Job Summary:

The Sr. Software Engineer will contribute to building and enhancing responsive web and mobile experiences for a members-only platform. The role focuses on developing user-facing features using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, micro front ends, and Java-based backend services while partnering closely with product and design teams. The engineer will help improve application performance, reliability, usability, and integration with backend services, while also contributing to testing, monitoring, production support, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
• Build and enhance responsive web and mobile experiences using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern frontend technologies.
• Develop and maintain micro front-end applications and integrate them with backend services.
• Consume and integrate RESTful APIs developed using Spring Boot and Java.
• Develop service integrations and supporting tooling using Node.js.
• Implement responsive designs using HTML5 and CSS3.
• Manage application state using Redux, Context API, or similar approaches.
• Write and maintain unit and component tests using Jest and React Testing Library.
• Test, debug, monitor, and troubleshoot application code to ensure reliability and quality.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to translate user needs into high-quality product experiences.
• Participate in application development using AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems to support automated software delivery.
• Apply AI-assisted coding tools to support code generation, refactoring, test case generation, debugging, and documentation.
• Monitor application performance using logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting capabilities.
• Participate in production support activities and on-call rotations.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across a multi-site development team.

Required Qualifications
• 5-7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on React experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with Java-based APIs.
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong frontend development experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
• Good understanding of Spring Boot to support backend applications and APIs.
• Experience consuming APIs and handling asynchronous data within micro front ends.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and backend service integration.
• Experience with Jest and React Testing Library or similar frontend testing frameworks.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Experience with application monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting.
• Experience with production support and on-call rotations.
• Experience working effectively within a multi-site, collaborative development team.
• Experience working in a product engineering or product-led environment with close collaboration across product and design teams.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT for software development activities.
