YOU

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in modernizing and evolving our software platform. You will design and develop cloud-based APIs and services that support next-generation engineering and design applications for the building industry.

We are actively investing in the transformation of our software platform from traditional desktop applications toward modern cloud-based services and APIs hosted in Microsoft Azure. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor team members, and grow into a Technical Lead position as our platform modernization efforts expand.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native services and APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core. (30%)

Collaborate with architects and engineers to modernize existing desktop application functionality into service-oriented and cloud-hosted solutions. (20%)

Design and implement secure, observable, and resilient distributed systems leveraging Azure cloud technologies. (15%)

Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture reviews while promoting engineering best practices. (10%)

Develop automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes to improve software quality and delivery velocity. (10%)

Participate in Agile planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. (10%)

Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and development practices. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Event-driven systems and messaging patterns (Azure Service Bus / Event Grid)
  • CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Containerization technologies: Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
  • Observability and monitoring practices (Application Insights / OpenTelemetry / structured logging)
  • OpenAPI / Swagger API documentation
  • Authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Experience modernizing legacy desktop or monolithic applications
  • WPF or desktop application development (C++/C#)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Bicep / ARM)
  • Building industry software experience is a plus

PAY

$107,500 - $182,800 / year
