Your role as Senior Software DeveloperReporting to Pierre-Luc Turgeon, Director of Engineering, you will join Assembly, our platform-oriented team embedded within the Member Stream. Assembly's mission is to design effective architecture and build reliable foundations that empower our product teams to innovate and improve member experiences with speed and confidence. You'll tackle deep-seated technical challenges and build high-performance foundations that pay long-term dividends - for our developers and for the millions of Canadians who rely on our applications to receive the care they need.
What you'll be doing- Solving complex technical challenges across our platform, from architecture design to hands-on implementation.
- Building reliable, scalable, and explainable foundations that product teams across Dialogue build upon.
- Contributing to key technical initiatives from conception to launch, with a direct impact on long-term member experience.
- Defining plans to manage and reduce technical debt and contributing to their implementation.
- Working across the stack - the team's projects vary, and so will your learning; we value depth in some areas and curiosity in all of them.
- Collaborating closely with product teams to understand their needs and help them ship with confidence.
- Participating in and contributing to all agile ceremonies, team meetings, and broader technology department activities.
We'd love to hear from you if you have- 5+ years of software development experience with strong fundamentals in architecture, system design, and experience across both front-end and back-end development.
- Experience on platform, infrastructure, or developer-experience teams, with a track record of improving architecture and engineering processes.
- A learning mindset - comfortable with ambiguity and genuinely enthusiastic about picking up new domains, languages, or frameworks as projects require.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, and the capacity to work autonomously and drive initiatives forward.
- Mobile development experience (React Native or native iOS/Android) is a meaningful asset.
