The role

We are seeking a Senior Segmental Bridge Survey Manager to be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all survey operations on segmental bridge projects involving launching gantry erection, balanced cantilever erection by lifting crane, and elevated guideway structures. The Senior Segmental Bridge Surveyor ensures geometry accuracy, spatial integrity, and compliance of all survey activities from initial to final stage while supporting safe and efficient construction delivery.

What you'll do

• Lead all survey operations on-site, including establishment and maintenance of primary and secondary control networks across the project alignment.
• Perform and oversee precise setting-out of pier locations, bearing seats, segment positions, and guideway geometry in accordance with design tolerance for elevated viaduct structures.
• Coordinate survey support for launching gantry erection and all required correction in relation to the geometry control management.
• Execute and manage survey activities associated with balanced cantilever erection by crane, including segment-by-segment geometry control, cantilever deflection monitoring, and closure pour verification.
• Produce and maintain accurate as-built survey records, alignment reports, and geometric verification documentation for all completed works.
• Review and interpret survey control plans, alignment data, and setting-out packages provided by the design team and check for constructability prior to execution.
• Coordinate with the engineering and methods team to resolve geometric conflicts, alignment deviations, or setting-out discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Ensure all survey works comply with project quality requirements, applicable standards, and client specifications.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain survey instruments and equipment; manage survey consumables and asset tracking on-site.
• Provide guidance and technical oversight to junior survey staff assigned to the project.
• Participate in project coordination meetings, progress reviews, and quality audits as required.
• Promote a strong culture of accuracy, safety, and professionalism within the survey team.

What we're looking for

• Individuals must be willing to travel within Canada and elsewhere as needed.
• 10 plus years' experience in construction surveying, with demonstrated exposure to large scale civil infrastructure of transportation projects.
• Proven experience in survey operations on elevated structures, including launching gantry erection, balanced cantilever bridge erection.
• Proven experience in geometry control management for both segment precast and erection.
• Proficiency with total stations, survey control system.
• Strong working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, or equivalent platforms.
• Familiarity with coordinate systems and alignment geometry for elevated infrastructure.
• Experience producing and interpreting engineering drawings, alignment files, and survey control documentation.
• Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.
