As GrabAGun's e-commerce revenue continues to scale, accurate and timely revenue and cost-of-goods-sold accounting are critical to reliable financial reporting and sound decision-making. The Senior Accountant will own the day-to-day revenue and COGS accounting function, ensuring transactions are properly recognized, reconciled, and audit-ready.

This role also contributes more broadly to the monthly close, bringing discipline to reconciliations and internal controls, and partnering closely with the rest of the accounting team to keep the close process running smoothly.

What you'll do every day
  • Own the day-to-day revenue accounting process, including preparing and posting revenue-related journal entries such as deferred revenue, returns and refunds, chargebacks, and promotional discounts.
  • Perform monthly revenue reconciliations across sales channels and payment processors, resolving discrepancies and ensuring revenue is properly recognized under U.S. GAAP (ASC 606).
  • Prepare and analyze COGS and inventory-related journal entries and reconciliations, including valuation and cut-off procedures, partnering closely with Operations.
  • Analyze revenue and margin variances month over month, providing clear, actionable explanations to management.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Payment Processing teams to ensure accurate coding and reporting of revenue transactions.
  • Prepare revenue and COGS-related workpapers and supporting schedules for financial reporting, including 10-Q and 10-K filings.
  • Support external audits related to revenue and COGS by delivering audit-ready documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Execute assigned monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities outside of revenue/COGS, including general ledger journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and support SOX compliance initiatives, particularly related to revenue processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the revenue and COGS close, and assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or public company exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with hands-on experience in revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Experience in eCommerce, retail, or inventory-driven businesses, including exposure to sales tax, payment processors, and revenue-related accounting flows.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with COGS and inventory accounting.
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting processes is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including working with large data sets.
  • Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and effective communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally.

Bonus if you have
  • CPA certification (preferred, not required).
  • Experience with revenue recognition automation tools or ERP revenue modules.
  • Experience in a newly public or SOX-compliant company environment.
  • Familiarity with chargeback, returns, or promotional accounting in a high-volume retail environment.

What success looks like
  • Accurate, well-documented revenue and COGS accounting. Clean reconciliations. Audit-ready financials leadership can rely on. A revenue accounting function that scales with GrabAGun's growth while staying compliant and efficient.
