This position is for a hands-on Manager responsible for directing the program's activities of the Software and Firmware engineering group focused on new product development and improving existing products. As Senior R&D Manager (Software / Firmware), you will lead and be a part of a high-performance team responsible for the design, implementation, and test of Software / Firmware medical systems and their associated devices within our Electrophysiology Pulsed Field Ablation portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage a talented team of engineers working on software and firmware development for PFA technology.
• Lead Software / Firmware teams in the achievement of organizational and functional goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders, project management, and inter-disciplinary partners
• Develop detailed work plans, objectives, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Monitor and troubleshoot performance and schedule issues. Support and enable team to achieve objectives.
• Oversee development processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Build strategic partnerships and effectively collaborate cross-functionally to further departmental and organizational objectives.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, clinical, regulatory, etc.) to ensure alignment, resolve challenges, and meet milestones.
• Work across multiple design/product workstreams in a capacity to resolve complex problems with robust technical solutions. Consider all critical aspects of product design during decision making including patient safety, clinical practice, high-level product performance, and product manufacturability.
• Lead by example and motivate and inspire other technical team members in the program.
• Create a strong team culture around high expectations and high performance.
• Demonstrate effective change management leadership.
• Provide clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science or Engineering or relevant field
• Experience in software/firmware development (C/C++, embedded systems, RTOS) and understanding of hardware/software integration.
• 7+ years of work experience in software or hardware engineering
• 4+ years of experience in leading people, preferably Software / Firmware teams
• Experience in medical device or other highly regulated industry (i.e. aerospace, defense, or other)
• Demonstrated strong cross-functional collaboration, influence without authority, and project/task management enabling highly effective teams
• Experience with managing budgets and deadlines
• Passion for understanding the end user environment with a fluency in design validation and usability to confirm design solutions
• Personal drive, individual accountability and a strong bias for action
• Strong personal credibility and excellent communication skills
• Exceptional communication skills, fluent in both written and spoken English

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience developing medical devices from early stage through full product launch and sustaining
• SCRUM Master
• Experience in electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, structural heart or a comparable intracardiac technology
• Fluency in the IEC 60601 standards
• Working proficiency in French

Ce poste s'adresse à un(e) gestionnaire impliqué(e) dans les activités quotidiennes, responsable de diriger les activités du groupe d'ingénierie logicielle et micrologicielle, axées sur le développement de nouveaux produits et l'amélioration des produits existants. Vos responsabilités comprendront:

• Gérer une équipe talentueuse d'ingénieurs travaillant au développement de logiciels et de micrologiciels pour la technologie PFA.
• Diriger les équipes responsables des logiciels et des micrologiciels afin d'atteindre les objectifs organisationnels et fonctionnels. Encadrer, coacher, orienter et développer les membres de l'équipe relevant directement de vous et, au besoin, promouvoir ces pratiques dans l'ensemble de votre organisation.
• Collaborer avec les leaders techniques principaux, la gestion de projets et les partenaires multidisciplinaires.
• Élaborer des plans de travail détaillés, des objectifs, des échéanciers, des estimations de projets, des plans de ressources et des rapports d'avancement. Surveiller la performance et les échéanciers, résoudre les problèmes et soutenir l'équipe dans l'atteinte de ses objectifs.
• Superviser les processus de développement afin d'assurer la conformité aux normes de l'industrie, aux systèmes qualité et aux exigences réglementaires.
• Établir des partenariats stratégiques et collaborer efficacement avec des équipes interfonctionnelles afin de soutenir les objectifs du service et de l'organisation.
• Travailler étroitement avec des équipes multidisciplinaires (ingénierie, affaires cliniques, affaires réglementaires, etc.) pour assurer l'alignement, résoudre les défis et respecter les jalons du projet.
• Intervenir dans plusieurs volets de conception et de développement de produits afin de résoudre des problèmes complexes grâce à des solutions techniques robustes. Qualifications requises:

• Baccalauréat en systèmes d'information informatique, en informatique, en génie ou dans un domaine connexe.
• Expérience en développement de logiciels ou de micrologiciels (C/C++, systèmes embarqués, RTOS) et bonne compréhension de l'intégration matériel-logiciel.
• Au moins 7 ans d'expérience en génie logiciel ou matériel.
• Au moins 4 ans d'expérience en gestion de personnel, idéalement au sein d'équipes de logiciels ou de micrologiciels.
• Expérience dans l'industrie des dispositifs médicaux ou dans une autre industrie hautement réglementée (p. ex., aérospatiale, défense ou autre).
• Solides compétences démontrées en collaboration interfonctionnelle, influence sans autorité hiérarchique et gestion de projets ou de tâches favorisant l'efficacité des équipes.
• Expérience en gestion de budgets et respect des échéanciers.
