The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring high-quality standards across products and processes, driving continuous improvement in manufacturing and service operations. This role involves developing quality assurance protocols, conducting inspections and audits, analyzing data, and collaborating with teams to optimize processes. The Senior Quality Engineer will also maintain quality documentation, address customer concerns, and mentor colleagues on best practices, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

This position follows a Monday-Friday onsite schedule, with standard office hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m, with possible deviations based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct detailed inspections and audits of products, processes, and systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize statistical methods to analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions together with the team.


Process Improvement:
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes and quality gates.
  • Implement Busch standard quality methodologies to drive process optimization.


Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare comprehensive quality reports, including audit findings, corrective actions, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO9001:2016.
  • Develop and maintain quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions.


Customer Interaction:
  • Address customer quality concerns and provide technical support to resolve issues promptly.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their quality specifications and ensure alignment with internal processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.


Training and Development:
  • Mentor and train colleagues on best practices, standards, and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality engineering.


Problem Solving:
  • Utilize advanced problem-solving skills to identify and address quality-related issues.
  • Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to develop effective solutions for complex problems.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and proactive measures to resolve quality problems.


Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree: Preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the vacuum technology industry: Required
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO9001): Required
  • Experience with statistical analysis software and quality management tools: Required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Quality Management (CQM):Preferred
  • Valid Drivers' License (must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards): Required

Job Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
    • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 10%) domestically and internationally to include overnights
  • Valid Drivers' License must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standards
  • Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.


Physical Requirements
  • Constant reaching outward, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 20lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
  • Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, and lifting/carrying/pushing pulling up to 50lbs
  • All applicants must be able to hear and see audible and visual alarms and must be able to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, electrical hazards, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
