Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer - Local to Pittsburgh, PA
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States -Onsite
Type/Duration: Direct Hire, Permanent


Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and execute quality engineering practices for the Document Management platform, focusing on user-centric application capabilities and integration across enterprise systems.
  • Implement test architecture, automation frameworks, and validation strategies to ensure continuous quality across document access, metadata integrity, and search functionalities-including vector-based semantic retrieval-and governance controls.
  • Support AI-powered search and agentic workflows, automating testing processes and enhancing test observability and audit readiness.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and acceptance criteria definition to ensure testability.
  • Design test coverage and automation strategies across applications and integrations, enabling shift-left testing and early defect detection.
  • Validate document workflows, search and retrieval capabilities, security controls, and system integrations through end-to-end testing.
  • Develop and execute tests for metadata validation, taxonomy alignment, data quality enforcement, document lifecycle, and governance controls.
  • Test federated system integrations, API and event-driven communications, and ensure end-to-end traceability and auditability.
  • Support performance, scalability, security, and compliance testing, including RBAC validation and data protection safeguards.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites and CI/CD validation pipelines, reporting on failures, coverage, and quality metrics.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering with a strong focus on automation.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) or similar languages for test automation and API validation.
  • Experience testing API-driven, event-based, or distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services including App Services, Service Bus, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, AI/Search, and DevOps.
  • Experience validating document management, search platforms, or metadata-driven systems with strong understanding of data quality, metadata validation, and search concepts including vector/semantic search.
  • Experience testing security, RBAC, and compliance controls in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, LLM-based retrieval, or intelligent automation testing is a plus.
  • Experience working in regulated industries, preferably financial services.
