What You Will Do

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and driving quality excellence across manufacturing operations, suppliers, and customer-facing activities. This role serves as a key technical resource for quality improvement initiatives, ensuring products consistently meet customer requirements while supporting business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

The Senior Quality Engineer will influence business results by analyzing quality performance data, identifying improvement opportunities, leading root cause investigations, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. The role acts as a bridge between customers, suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, and field teams to drive continuous improvement and enhance the overall customer experience.

How You Will Do It

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, process capability improvement, cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction, and customer satisfaction enhancement.


  • Analyze quality data, field performance data, warranty information, and customer feedback to identify trends and prioritize improvement opportunities.


  • Facilitate root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, 9S, A3, and DMAIC approaches.


  • Lead and support APQP activities, PFMEA development, control plans, process validation, and risk mitigation efforts for new and existing products.


  • Partner with operations, engineering, supply chain, and field service teams to implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.


  • Conduct customer investigations, customer site visits, and field assessments to understand performance concerns and support resolution activities.


  • Serve as a primary quality contact for customers and suppliers regarding quality issues, corrective actions, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.


  • Evaluate nonconforming materials, participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and support disposition decisions and containment actions.


  • Support and maintain compliance with the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001 requirements, internal audits, corrective action programs, and management review processes.


  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality expectations, drive supplier corrective actions, and reduce supplier-related quality issues.


  • Develop and present quality metrics, dashboards, and project status updates to leadership teams.


  • Mentor quality engineers, inspectors, and cross-functional teams on quality tools, methodologies, and best practices.


  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer-focused quality throughout the organization.


What We Look For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


  • Minimum of 7 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably low-volume/high-mix production.


  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards, including ISO 9001 requirements and auditing principles.


  • Demonstrated experience with quality methodologies including APQP, FMEA, CAPA, NCR, deviation management, and structured problem solving.


  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and leading cross-functional corrective action teams.


  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Minitab, or equivalent statistical and reporting tools.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven success interacting with customers, suppliers, and leadership teams.


  • Demonstrated project management and prioritization skills with the ability to drive results through influence and collaboration.


  • Ability to travel up to 15% as required to support customer visits, supplier audits, and field investigations. Based on source roles requiring travel.


Preferred

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or equivalent certification.


  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.


  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.


  • Experience with customer quality, warranty analysis, reliability engineering, and field quality programs.


  • Experience within HVAC, industrial equipment, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments.

SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $140,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
