Senior Project Manager - Transportation (15+ Years Experience)

The Opportunity

As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of roadway, bridge, and transportation projects from planning through

completion, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a leader to project teams. Your experience will help drive project success while fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.

In this role, you will:

Lead complex roadway, bridge, and transportation engineering projects from planning through successful delivery.

Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and overall project performance.

Deliver transportation projects using 3D model-based workflows (e.g., OpenRoads, Civil 3D) in alignment with TxDOT standards, including model development, QA/QC, and integration into plan production and construction deliverables.

Build and strengthen relationships with TxDOT and local agency clients through responsive communication and exceptional service.

Facilitate communication among various stakeholders, including TxDOT, Harris County Toll Road Authority, Houston Public Works and Fort Bend County.

Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with TxDOT and local agency standards, procedures, and quality expectations.

Lead multidisciplinary teams, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate with internal teams on project pursuits, proposals, and strategic client initiatives.

Leverage existing client relationships and business development experience, when applicable, to help expand IEI's transportation practice throughout Texas.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas.

15+ years of transportation engineering experience focused on roadway, bridge, and transportation infrastructure.

Ideally 15+ years of hands-on Project Management experience in Transportation, Drainage, Roadway, Bridge, and Infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated success managing TxDOT and/or local agency transportation projects.

Thorough knowledge of TxDOT standards, procedures, and project delivery practices.

Hands on experience implementing, managing auditing QA/QC programs and proven ability to perform technical design reviews, constructability checks, and verify calculations and project specifications.

Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Outstanding project management, client coordination, and communication skills.

Proficient in 3D Modeling of roads, railways, and bridges; MicroStation, Bentley ProjectWise, OpenRoads; MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Teams); Deltek VantagePoint or similar CRM systems required; Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, or other project controls tracking software.

Business development experience is welcomed and provides an additional opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of our Houston transportation practice.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $170,000 per year
