GFT is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Roads & Highways to join our Transportation team in Vancouver, BC. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Vancouver office.
What you’ll be challenged to do:
As a Senior Project Manager, Roads & Highways, you will function as a project manager or team lead on roads and highways projects, with initial support from GFT’s established GTA infrastructure team, including access to technical specialists, project delivery tools, QA/QC processes, and pursuit resources. You will also participate in and support pursuit and business development efforts, while nurturing and developing client relationships.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements, including TAC, BC MoTT, MMCD, and other relevant municipal and provincial standards.
- Maintain a close working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel.
- Maintain a high level of technical quality on the projects.
- Mentor project staff and participate in hiring processes.
- Provide effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations within the roads and highways team.
What you will bring to our firm:
- A University Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree.
- P.Eng. designation required.
- 10+ years of related project experience.
- Experience in a project management or in a technical lead capacity for clients.
- Familiarity with roadway design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, ORD).
- Technical excellence in civil & roadway design.
- A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control, construction administration and claims resolution.
- Demonstrated full life-cycle project leadership, from kickoff through design, approvals, tender, construction and close-out.
What we prefer you bring:
- Experience in BRT, LRT including intermodal transit facilities an asset.
- Familiarity and experience with various delivery models and P3 projects is an asset.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $135,400 - $160,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
