Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Summary

The Digital Project Management Office (PMO) plans and implements key strategic Digital programs and projects to deliver outcomes benefiting UHN and the health system. We apply best practices for managing projects, change, and risk to ensure high quality deliverables, effective coordination of resources, and transparent progress reporting. Members of the PMO work in close partnership with a broad range of stakeholders, bringing the right teams together to streamline the demand, end-to-end delivery, and operational services in order to mobilize change and achieve value.

An exciting 1-year opportunity is available to showcase your talents as a Senior Project Manager with a primary focus on the Digital Patient Experience program. We are seeking an innovative and highly proficient project and change management leader who will oversee the planning and delivery of digitally-enabled workflow, hardware and software implementation projects, with a focus on benefits for UHN patients and families. Examples of projects include: Surgical eConsent, Integrated Bedside Technologies, Patient Wearables Integration, and After Visit Summary modifications.

Duties
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and UHN Digital leadership to establish business cases, objectives, and program/project roadmaps
  • Assume overall end-to-end ownership of program planning and delivery for a mix of projects, including large initiatives with complex technical, change management, and operationalization requirements
  • Mobilize a cross-functional team with the right mix of talent and skills to execute on short-term and long-term plans
  • Establish and maintain strong program and project management office controls, including management of scope, schedule, budget, procurement, financial, and value delivery
  • Manage and coach assigned project management staff; this includes responsibilities for recruiting, staff development, performance management and resource allocation
  • Maintain a strong focus on governance, change management and communications with an emphasis on outcomes, value delivery, and customer service
  • Proactively identify and manage risks and issues with appropriate escalation to senior leadership
  • Oversee procurement and delivery of goods and services, manage vendor contracts and relationships
  • Be part of an on-call leadership rotation schedule to support UHN Digital's emergency response to critical information system downtimes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project and change management tools and processes within the Project Management Office Centre of Excellence


Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years Project Management experience required
  • Minimum 5 years Program Management experience preferred
  • Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics or Administration, Technology, Science, Business, or related field required
  • Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Excellent team building, coaching, and group facilitation skills
  • Excellent presentation, writing and training skills
  • Excellent budget management skills and proficiency in data analytics to support IT investments
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering large, complex programs with diverse teams using full-cycle project management, program management, and change management methodologies required
  • Supervisory or managerial experience required
  • Experience in formal procurement processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management required
  • Experience with healthcare organizations and hospital information system implementation preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills at the executive and senior management level
  • Strong strategic critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient use of office productivity, project management, and scrum software (e.g. M365 tools, MS Teams, MS Planner/Project, MS Visio, Kanban, Atlassian JIRA, ServiceNow)
