Full Job Description
Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Accountant to join our growing Project Services Group in Mississauga, ON.

The Senior Project Accountant is the focal point within the Project Services Group (PSG) for ensuring maintenance and reporting of committed, accrued and invoiced costs.

The tasks you'll perform
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, and accounting activities, including budget setup, cash calls, payment runs, and month-end reporting.
  • Process invoice approval forms (IAFs), maintain financial registers, reconcile vendor accounts, and ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Monitor purchase orders, bank guarantees, and retention registers, ensuring financial commitments are tracked and project records remain current.
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, and vendors to resolve invoice, payment, and budget-related queries while maintaining professional stakeholder relationships.
  • Prepare, maintain, and file project documentation and reports in accordance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support project financial performance by monitoring budgets, identifying required purchase order revisions, and contributing to project close-out activities.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of cost control processes, policies, and reporting standards.
  • Mentor junior team members, support cross-functional project delivery, and travel as required to meet business and project needs.

The expertise you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 5 years in project accounting preferably from mineral processing or similar EPCM projects
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior team members is an asset.

The expected salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,000. This range is based on the role's job family and level and reflects a good faith estimate for the role at the time of posting.
