Full Job Description
Role Summary:

The Senior Product Planner will create and maintain a comprehensive production schedule that adheres to specified KPI's. This person will coordinate with various departments such as engineering, purchasing, sales and operations to ensure all customer expectations are met. This person will also actively participate in the Plan for Every Part process and other initiatives to optimize inventory.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan production schedules based on customer order requirements and working closely in extensive collaborations with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing departments. Evaluate the impacts of customer change orders on Operations and create execution plans to accommodate these changes.
  • Attend and actively participate in Pass gate meetings, review the steps required for manufacturing and provide feedback as to what will be necessary for a successful delivery.
  • Monitor and level load capacity and initiate manufacturing outsourcing as needed while strictly adhering to expense control.
  • Support Cost Estimators and Sales to provide manufacturing lead time.
  • Collaborate with Product line and Sales in the SIOP process.
  • Implement a quarterly Plan for Every Part process to optimize inventory.
  • Participate in and implement programs and procedures to improve processes, lead-time, and delivery performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • BS or BA Degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of planning experience OR 8-10 years planning/manufacturing experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
  • Fluency and proficiency in the practical application of MRP logic, scheduling logic, order policies, capacity planning, input/output control, product structures, routings, and standards maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable in master scheduling, production planning and detailed scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and cost accounting techniques.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, coating, assembly.


Preferred Experience / Skills:
  • Engineering To Order manufacturing experience.
  • APICS certified
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills required with the ability to work well with all levels of employees and internal departments in a diverse environment.
