Brief Job Overview

USP is seeking a results-oriented Senior B2B e-Commerce Product Manager to lead the capability-driven roadmap and execution of USP's digital commerce platforms and supporting third-party applications. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Technology Operations, this role serves as the critical link between business strategy, customer experience, and technology delivery, ensuring digital commerce capabilities enable a seamless, customer-centric experience across the end-to-end customer journey.

The successful candidate will combine strategic product leadership with hands-on execution experience in enterprise B2B e-Commerce environments. This individual will partner across Marketing, Commercial, IT, and enterprise stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into customer-centric business capabilities, align investment priorities, govern the business roadmap, and deliver measurable business and customer outcomes. Through a deep understanding of customer needs, behaviors, and pain points, the Senior Product Manager will partner with Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to inform and continuously optimize the digital commerce experience, translating strategic priorities into prioritized capabilities that improve adoption, self-service, operational efficiency, and long-term customer value.

As the Senior B2B E-Commerce Product Manager, you bring a business and customer-first mindset to every decision you make. You translate business strategy and customer needs into a clear, prioritized roadmap, ensuring that every platform investment isn't just technically sound but genuinely improves the buying experience for USP's customers while driving revenue growth and operational efficiency for the business. This ensures a scalable, integrated, customer-centric eCommerce experience that drives digital adoption and operational excellence.

The Senior Product Manager has the following responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Support and implement product vision and drive capability roadmap for USP's B2B e-commerce platforms and related digital commerce capabilities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define priorities, and align product investments with organizational goals.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and business case development through launch, optimization, and retirement.
  • Continuously evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive insights to identify opportunities for innovation and business value.

Product Ownership & Delivery
  • Serve as the Product Owner for agile delivery teams, translating business objectives into actionable product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing customer needs, business value, technical feasibility, and operational considerations.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to define sprint goals, facilitate backlog refinement, and ensure successful execution of roadmap initiatives.
  • Partner with technology and delivery leaders to establish realistic timelines, manage dependencies, and communicate delivery expectations to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership
  • Build strong relationships with commercial and enterprise stakeholders such as marketing, sales, customer support, finance, fulfillment, and technology teams to drive alignment and adoption.
  • Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, and prioritization activities across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Communicate roadmap progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and business partners.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.

Data-Driven Product Management
  • Monitor and analyze product performance, customer behavior, platform usage, and key business metrics to inform product decisions.

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and business impact.

Quality & Operational Excellence

  • Proven ability to manage complex transaction architectures, balance competing commercial priorities, and lead cross-functional matrixed teams.
  • Extensive experience with SDLC methodologies operating within Agile/Scrum environments using tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, global supply chain logistics, or other highly regulated, compliant enterprise environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated business and customer-centric mindset, with the ability to translate strategic priorities and customer needs into actionable product decisions that drive measurable outcomes.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Deep functional expertise in enterprise-grade B2B e-commerce platforms (e.g., SAP/Oracle Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento/Adobe Commerce, Shopify, or Optimizely); strong understanding of cart-to-order architectures including pricing & promotions.
  • Proven leadership in Agile/Scrum as an active Product Owner, with strong backlog management, story decomposition, and roadmap planning skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across both senior business executives and technical teams.
  • Data-driven decision-making capacity combined with strong analytical, conversion-funnel mapping, and financial problem-solving skills.
  • E-commerce platform technical training and Agile/Product Owner certifications (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM) are a strong plus.
  • Experience overseeing QA/UAT processes, including test planning and defect resolution.
  • Familiarity with modern enterprise system integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica) and third-party localized checkout tools.
  • Knowledge of basic Salesforce or other enterprise CRM architectures as they interface with digital storefronts.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: USD $120,051.00 - $171,072.00 annually.

Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.

United States Pharmacopeia (USP) recently launched the Medicine Supply Map with the mission of helping to end drug shortages and ensure patient access to quality medicines. The Medicine Supply Map identifies, characterizes, and quantifies risk in the upstream pharmaceutical supply chain so that stakeholders can take proactive steps to avoid or mitigate drug shortages. To support the growth of this new product and business, we have an opening for a Senior Product Manager.

The position reports to the Senior Manager - New Digital Products Development, in the Digital and Innovation division. As the lead for short and long-term strategy for the product, the successful candidate will interact closely with customers, the technical development team, marketing, and communications, and USP senior and executive leadership. The successful candidate will also apply an understanding of USP's domestic and global role, pharmaceutical industry trends, and customer needs while creating value for USP and for USP's customers.

The role is responsible for defining, shaping, directing, and executing the strategy for the Medicine Supply Map. In addition to overall strategy, the successful candidate will manage product lifecycle, business development, and own P&L for the product.
• Responsible for top-line revenue and user adoption for the Medicine Supply Map.
• Applies knowledge of consultative sales to convert leads into customers.
• Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to develop sales and marketing campaigns that create awareness for and adoption of the Medicine Supply Map.
• Defines short and long-term product strategy, objectives, and implementation roadmap through understanding, anticipating, and prioritizing customer needs, bringing long-term value for both customers and USP.
• Defines key product and business performance metrics to research and analyze business data driving increased public health and/or revenue impact.
• Works closely with development team on highly technical aspects of Medicine Supply Map development. Prior experience with the development of software and informatics products targeting technical/scientific end-users is a strong plus.
• Leverages knowledge of the pharmaceutical supply chain landscape and processes to help develop informatics tools and solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
• Acts as primary point of contact for all internal and external product-related inquiries, developing strong relationships with users to obtain information on customer usage, experience, and pain points.
• Continually works to improve the customer experience, identify, and fill knowledge gaps, and to create opportunities for future growth and increase USP's global impact.
