Full Job Description
ROLE SALARY BAND $160,000 - $205,000 ROLE OVERVIEW A core pillar of our product is a trusted network built on referrals between friends and neighbours. Your team will be the driving force, maximizing these crucial referral signals to help homeowners find and book the Pros with a uniquely high level of trust. Your goal is simple: to move the industry from the outdated model of booking based on reviews to the future of booking based on referrals from people users know and trust. The set of problems to overcome to drive the required outcomes for this team are broad, challenging, and ambitious. The opportunities and solutions to drive those outcomes are ambiguous, and in many cases won't align with industry norms due to the 0-1 nature of this space. Problems you'll likely be thinking about include; how to demonstrate clear and compelling value of a referral vs a review, how to be great at mapping relationships to yield the most trust with referral, and how to incentivize people to contribute referrals back to the community. How to drive unique value to Pros through our referral network. Reporting to the Head of Product, and partnered with a Designer and a Tech Lead, you'll own outcomes that drive the referral network, and be a lynch pin for how referrals drive outcomes across our Marketplace and Pro teams as well. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING • Take full ownership of the referral network, ensuring a seamless and high-impact experience for all stakeholders. • Partner with leadership to set direction for your team that fits with the overall company strategy. • Own your team's roadmap, and partner with your team to prioritize opportunities and solutions that are the right size bets to achieve the outcomes you're accountable for. • Ensure everything your team builds is a good bet - meaning it's valuable (customers will use it) and viable (it's profitable and sustainable for the business and mission). • Talk to customers regularly. You'll gather insights firsthand and use them to shape decisions, challenge assumptions, and uncover opportunities. • Synthesize both qualitative and quantitative feedback to make decisions, place bets, and rally your team behind things you all believe will drive impact. • Define detailed requirements, rulesets, and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements. • Own how your team's initiatives are introduced and understood both internally and to our customers. • Be an expert in the industry, understanding competition, trends, and macro factors to inform strategy and how we tackle problems. • Partner with PMs, Designers, and Engineers from across the company to deliver holistic solutions. Outcome teams have focus areas, but we work across a very interconnected product. WHAT YOU BRING • You drive outcomes, not push features. You've worked in empowered product teams, where PMs, Designers, and Developers partner to achieve the desired customer and business outcomes. • You pride yourself on being the go to person for customer context on your team. • Desire to work within a lot of ambiguity, ability to drive synthesis from a variety of different qualitative and quantitative sources, and set a strong vision for your team. • Strong product sense - you understand the bar of what a great product is and you won't settle for less. • Building something customers love, yet works for the business is something you feel in your bones. • Great verbal and written communication skills, structuring ambiguous concepts clearly and from first principles . You can articulate points of view, consideration sets, and direction in a team compatible manner that anticipates questions and allows the team to align quickly. • Demonstrated experience of leading initiatives spanning multiple teams, influencing roadmaps, planning, and execution. • Customer conversations are your lifeblood. You can't imagine going weeks without some form of interaction with your customers. • You've founded a startup, lead initiatives at an early stage company, or owned a 0-1 product at an established company. You know what it takes to get things done and are willing to get your hands dirty to make it happen. THIS IS A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF... • You're mission-driven and looking to solve hard problems. • You're at a point in your life and your career where you want to tackle a uniquely demanding job to produce meaningful impact. • You're keen to work in a hybrid role where you're in office with a team 3 days a week. You have flexibility for further in person collaboration with leadership or other hands-on work as required. • You show up like an owner. VACATION AND BENEFITS We know the power it takes to be successful in a challenging mission and we want to ensure our team is rested and ready to go. • We offer 30 days of PTO annually, which can be used for vacation, personal days, or illness. Five of these days are designated as company-wide closures around the start and end of the year. • In addition, our benefits plan covers health, dental and wellness to add that extra pep in our step, and help us sleep at night. • We have a tech allowance benefit to help set you up for work. • We have pregnancy and parental leave policies, and we're ready to support your family's next stage of growth. EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP: We're a team on a mission. We expect a high degree of ownership from each other and we pair that with higher than usual employee ownership in the company. We want people who value ownership in the scope of their role, and in the equity they hold in the company to help us make something meaningful happen.
