PetPlace is hiring a Senior Product Manager (D2C) to join our growing team
This is a hybrid role ideally based in Chicago or New York City
Position Overview
As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of customer-facing platform capabilities that power the PetPlace experience. You'll partner with Engineering, UX, Data, Marketing, SEO, Content, and business leaders to identify customer needs, validate ideas, and deliver scalable digital solutions that improve acquisition, engagement, and long-term retention.

Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap — Own the roadmap for customer-facing platform capabilities and prioritize investments aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
- Product Discovery — Identify unmet customer needs through research, analytics, experimentation, and market insights, translating findings into impactful products.
- Customer Experience — Lead the development of onboarding, lifecycle, education, search, engagement, and other digital experiences that improve customer satisfaction and retention.
- Technical Product Leadership — Partner closely with Engineering to define requirements, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration — Work with UX, Marketing, SEO, Content, Analytics, and business leaders to bring new capabilities from concept through launch that offer best-in-class discoverability and engagement experiences
- Data & Experimentation — Define KPIs, monitor performance, and leverage customer insights, A/B testing, and analytics to continuously improve outcomes.
- Innovation — Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-driven search, personalization, and automation, to enhance customer experience.
- Communication & Influence — Communicate product vision, priorities, and results while influencing stakeholders across the organization without direct authority.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Product Management experience with ownership of customer-facing digital products from concept through launch and optimization.
- Experience building and scaling direct-to-consumer digital products or platforms and experiences.
- Success leading products from discovery and validation through launch, iteration, and growth.
- Experience with customer lifecycle, membership, subscription, loyalty, marketplace, registry, healthcare, wellness, education, or similar engagement-driven products.
- Strong customer empathy with experience in journey mapping, user research, and product discovery.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience using quantitative and qualitative data to prioritize investments.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong customer empathy and expertise in journey mapping, user research, and experience design principles.
- Strategic thinker who can identify emerging customer needs and translate them into actionable product opportunities.
- Comfort operating in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SEO-driven, content-rich, or community-based digital products.
- Experience with AI-enabled search, recommendations, personalization, or conversational experiences.
- Experience in B2C product organizations serving large-scale consumer audiences.
- Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies.
