About the Role

123Dentist is recruiting a Senior Privacy & Compliance Manager to join its high-performing and dynamic Legal Department, based at our Head Office in Toronto or in Montreal. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Privacy & Compliance, the successful candidate will run the day-to-day operation of the organization's privacy and compliance program across our rapidly expanding, countrywide network of dental practices.

You will translate strategy into practical, repeatable processes and partner with teams across the business - including Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, and Mergers & Acquisitions - to keep the network compliant and foster a culture of integrity. The mandate spans privacy and data protection, corporate and clinical regulatory compliance, enterprise risk and governance, ESG, and the regulatory maintenance of affiliated dental professional corporations.

What You'll Do
  • Run the privacy program day to day - maintaining policies, consent and retention standards, and privacy impact assessments, and supporting the designated privacy officer function across every province of operation
  • Coordinate privacy incident and data breach response end to end, from triage through notification and remediation
  • Advise Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, and Mergers & Acquisitions on compliance, keeping practices and teams aligned with applicable laws and dental college requirements
  • Maintain clinical regulatory compliance (IPAC, billing/insurance, and record-keeping) - running internal audits, corrective actions, reference materials, and training for clinical teams
  • Coordinate the Management Risk Committee and maintain the enterprise risk register and heat maps, tracking mitigation actions with risk owners
  • Operate the organization's ESG program - tracking initiatives and metrics and preparing reporting and disclosures
  • Administer the regulatory maintenance of affiliated dental professional corporations and support sedation and x-ray permit applications and renewals across jurisdictions
  • Review vendor and third-party agreements for privacy and data-protection compliance, and work with external counsel and the broader Legal team on shared matters
  • Deliver training and awareness initiatives that build a culture of compliance across the organization

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or a related field (JD/LLB, MBA, or a related graduate degree an asset)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate compliance, regulatory affairs, or data privacy, gained in a regulated industry such as healthcare, finance, or technology
  • Working knowledge of Canadian privacy legislation (PHIPA, PIPEDA, and provincial equivalents), with the ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, operational processes
  • Ideally, familiarity with dental or healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to assess legal and regulatory risk in a commercial context
  • Excellent drafting, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, together with sound business judgment and a high degree of integrity
  • Outstanding attention to detail, with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment in decision-making
  • Team-oriented and collaborative; thrives in a lean, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building programs that scale
  • A privacy certification (CIPP/C or CIAPP) or Certified Dental Compliance Professional (CDCP) would be an asset
  • Professional working proficiency in French is strongly preferred

Why Join 123Dentist?
  • Take on a high-impact, high-visibility mandate at one of Canada's largest dental support organizations
  • Build and shape a privacy and compliance program at national scale
  • Work closely with senior leadership across Legal, Operations, and the broader business
