Role Summary

As a member of LG's Corporate Affairs team, the Senior Policy Manager will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Affairs and support implementation of LG's legislative and regulatory agenda. In this position, the Senior Policy Manager will support the work of government affairs at the local, state, and federal levels to enhance LG's business growth.

What You Will Own
  • Work cross-functionally throughout the organization to assist in the development of a legislative and regulatory policy agenda that will foster an environment for business growth and the LG Way
  • Help identify potential business opportunities and risks stemming from pending legislative, regulatory, and related initiatives at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Contribute to the development and execution of legislative activities and support the crafting and delivery of messages on key advocacy issues
  • In concert with the Senior Director, work with trade associations and consultants to keep abreast of public policy issues relevant to LG
  • Assist in drafting regular government affairs briefing materials, including memos and PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to own and drive priorities within your policy portfolio
  • Experience working in a corporate environment or managing corporate clients/stakeholders is a plus
  • Support LG as a "brand ambassador" at events as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of Capitol Hill, Executive Branch or previous government relations experience (Trade Associations, Corporate, or Non-profit)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Writing and reporting detailed summaries on legislation, regulation, and political landscapes is critical
  • A deep understanding of the legislative and political process with experience on energy, transportation, environment,(can substitute for "tax, trade") and other issue areas as assigned
  • Experience working with trade associations, industry groups, and coalitions
  • Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Excellent writing capability (i.e. briefing documents, reports, policy analysis)

Recruiting Range

$135,000-$195,000 USD
