Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a motivated Software Developer 3 to join the Infrastructure Planning and Capacity Management organization. This team develops the platforms, services, workflows, and operational tooling that enable Oracle to plan, source, deploy, and manage capacity across its global cloud infrastructure footprint.

Our systems support critical engineering and business processes across infrastructure planning, capacity forecasting, deployment readiness, sourcing operations, and operational decision-making. We build cloud-native services, workflow platforms, data pipelines, and analytics solutions used by engineering, operations, supply chain, and finance teams across OCI.

As a member of this team, you will independently design, develop, test, and operate software components and services that support infrastructure planning and capacity management. You will solve standard and non-standard engineering problems, improve existing systems and processes, and collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver reliable solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, experience building cloud-native applications, and a passion for solving operational challenges through automation, data, and scalable platform development.

  • Design, develop, test, and operate cloud-native services supporting OCI infrastructure planning and capacity management.
  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, workflow components, and automation that support business-critical operational processes.
  • Develop software that processes infrastructure, operational, and planning data at scale.
  • Implement data ingestion, transformation, and analytics capabilities that improve forecasting accuracy and operational visibility.
  • Work with product managers, technical program managers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver well-defined technical solutions.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues; improve monitoring, observability, reliability, and operational automation.
  • Identify and implement practical improvements to workflows, system performance, and manual processes.
  • Collaborate with related OCI teams to integrate with infrastructure, inventory, planning, and capacity-management systems.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and day-to-day collaboration.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years professional software development experience building and delivering production services or applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Go, C#, or a similar modern programming language.
  • Experience developing backend services, APIs, or cloud-native applications.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and system design.
  • Experience working with relational and/or distributed databases.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, source control, monitoring, and observability.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as Codex, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools, to improve software delivery, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing distributed systems, scalable backend services, or workflow-based applications.
  • Experience with data engineering, data pipelines, ETL workflows, streaming platforms, or operational analytics.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure planning, capacity management, data center operations, hardware lifecycle management, or supply-chain workflows.
  • Experience in a cloud infrastructure environment such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, microservices, or cloud-native deployment practices.
  • Familiarity with Oracle APEX or low-code application frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts, including compute, storage, networking, and capacity planning.

Qualifications

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $92,500 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
