Senior Oracle Database AdministratorLocation: Remote (U.S.). Supports the U.S. Government Publishing Office, Washington, DC
Type: Full-time, contingent on contract award. Anticipated start: November 16, 2026
Hours: 8 hours/day within 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM ET. Periodic scheduled after-hours work for patching and reboots
You will own the health, performance, and availability of GPO's Oracle environment across on-prem and cloud systems.
What you'll do:- Administer and maintain Oracle databases, including Oracle Grid and RMAN backup and recovery
- Lead patching cycles, software installs, and server maintenance
- Design and test HA/DR and point-in-time recovery
- Tune performance at the optimizer and storage level
- Troubleshoot database and application-level issues, including SharePoint integrations
- Work RFCs and ServiceNow tickets from submission to closeout within SLAs
- Monitor capacity and system health with Idera and SolarWinds
- Mentor the mid-level Oracle DBA and deliver weekly activity reports
What you need:- 8+ years of Oracle database administration experience
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Grid, RMAN, PL/SQL, and HA/DR
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access
- Experience creating and managing standalone Oracle databases
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with technical staff and management
Preferred:- Oracle certification (OCP or OCM)
- OCI experience
- Federal or large enterprise support background
