Department Overview

Operations Support is dedicated to creating cross-commodity consistency and standards in Operations. The team provides support services guided by best practices and a relentless pursuit for improvement. It has single points of accountability for Clerical Services, Change Control & Order Management, Performance & Process Improvement, Ops Data Analytics & Tools, Clerical Knowledge & Skills and Non-Energy Revenue. Operations Support is comprised of approximately 600 coworkers.

Position Summary

This is an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This job is subject to collective bargaining.

An experienced employee who has a comprehensive knowledge of the operation and procedures for the Gas Operations group and is engaged in performing clerical work and assisting in the administrative work for the department. Acts as a subject matter expert and liaison between operating clerks and supervisor.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $55.34 to $58.13 subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist and/or coordinate clerical functions and/or procedures of employees and/or department and ensure clerical positions are covered.
  • Serve as change management liaison to assigned clerical employees and supervisor for training needs, manpower challenges, process improvements, upcoming projects, etc.
  • Serve as subject matter expert of Gas Ops Disciplines for assigned clerical employee engagement tasks, train, implement and maintain consistent process/procedures.
  • Audit clerical work to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Make recommendations/collect supporting data for supervisor regarding manpower, clerical functions, training needs, performance standards, employee engagement, etc.
  • Assist in budget preparation for General Services, Electric, Gas Departments, be researching & compiling information, i.e. manpower, material & supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Research and compile information and prepare complex reports, e.g.: Jobs, manpower, inventory, budget, backlog, safety statistics, performance standards, BTUs and gravities, etc.
  • Prepare weekly report on amount of overtime worked by employees, e.g.: log, post and distribute.
  • Maintain and prepare report of employee nonproductive time, e.g.: sick, vacation, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain vacation schedules.


Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Clerical Test Battery required.
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays, and various work schedules.


Desired:
  • Data Entry experience
  • SAP experience
  • Ariba experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Demonstrated experience with Payroll time entry
  • Demonstrated experience with Concur expense reporting
