Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Senior Nuclear Practice Leader to join our Radiation Risk Management Practice. We are looking to grow our team of skilled project managers, engineers and technical specialists within our Canadian Resilience group. You will be supporting in the technical leadership and mentorship as well as support in the growth of the environmental radiation, science, and engineering practice. You will play a key leadership role in advancing radiological science and practical applications and innovation across a wide variety of projects in the nuclear fuel cycle, from mining through waste management and new reactors. You will also be instrumental in delivering projects to key Arcadis' clients, throughout Canada and also play a key role in expanding our business to key and emerging clients.
You will be part of a team of professionals working on a variety of different projects within the Radiation Risk Management Group, including strategic advice, regulatory licensing and compliance, hazard, risk, and safety assessments (radiological and chemical), radiation shielding assessments, impact assessments (including human health and ecological risk assessments (HHERA) as well as public and Indigenous communications), radiological monitoring and survey plans, and radiation protection program management and oversight. Our team also services and supports innovation for managing Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM), mining, and industry.
Role accountabilities:The successful candidate will direct technical staff, lead client programs and will ensure compliance with the provincial/federal regulations while liaising and building relationships with key and emerging clients, federal, provincial, and municipal officials and professionals. You will have a key role in client development including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals and support overall business development. Key accountabilities include:
- Coordinating with internal and external engineers, designers, consultants, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress
- Spearheading strategic pursuits, creating winning delivery strategies, fee projections to achieve financial targets of the business, and creating the most advantageous delivery approach
- Taking responsibility for financial and program management controls which enable monitoring, modification and forecasting as appropriate
- Managing the acquisition, deployment, and optimization of resources for the project
- Driving timely service delivery including technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring delivery is above client expectation.
- Apply your understanding of regulatory and permitting requirements for a variety of jurisdictions
- Provide the highest quality of service to our clients by possessing exceptional technical and managerial skills in the design, construction, and operations of radiation related facilities and infrastructure
Qualifications & Experience:The successful candidate will have 20+ years of experience in Radiation Risk related planning, design, construction, operation and compliance monitoring with industrial clients. You should also have experience managing and directing staff. Other key qualifications include:
- Master's Degree in Science, Radiation Science, Nuclear Science and engineering, Health Physics, Engineering, such as Nuclear Science and engineering, Health Physics, Engineering, or similar field preferred.
- Experience with industrial and First Nations projects would be an asset.
- Program Management experience. PgMP designation would be an asset.
- Excellent communication skills.
The salary range for this position is $113,240 - 149,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
