  • Rotational responsibility as Duty Manager with other management staff.

Job Description

Position Overview
As the Plant Engineer you will be responsible for all environmental emissions compliance and reporting, permitting activities, technical support, and safety training at the site. This position reports to the Plant Manager, and is part of a management team that is responsible for the safe, efficient, fiscally sound and environmentally conscientious operation and maintenance of the facility, including all supporting properties and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of all plant permits, sampling and testing requirements associated with these permits, and reporting to the applicable regulators.
  • Interaction with local, Provincial, and Federal regulators to resolve permit issues.
  • Technical support and direction to contractors and in-house personnel.
  • Provide technical support to the station staff as needed to address technical problems.
  • Act as administrator for the station technical library files and effectively manage these support systems.
  • Learn and use key programs for evaluating plant performance.
  • Health and Safety support as the management representative on the JHSC.
  • Site security controls and reporting for site security systems.
  • Support for NERC compliance reporting and testing.
  • To act in the capacity of the Duty Manager in rotation with other management staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in either mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, other engineering, environmental science, or occupational safety degrees considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a strong working knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Experience with Provincial and Federal air emissions and environmental reporting.
  • Experience with NERC compliance.
  • Ability to handle daily communication of expectations, provide feedback and work collaboratively with plant staff.
  • High degree of flexibility and the capacity to work in a rapidly changing and ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and very strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Base Pay

135,000.00 - 167,500.00 CAD Annual
Bonus 15%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
