SUMMARY:

 

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network systems supporting voice, video, and data communications. This role ensures reliable, secure, and efficient network operations across facility environments and supports both routine and advanced engineering tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform facility operations, network administration, data management, information security, and information management functions.• Install, configure, and maintain network switches, routers, wireless systems, and associated software.• Support and maintain fiber optic, coaxial, and twistedpair cable plants, including testing and troubleshooting.• Administer and maintain voice, video, and data networks (including VTC systems).• Utilize network protocols, diagnostic tools, and test equipment to identify and resolve issues.• Develop, modify, and maintain planned network systems, subsystems, and communication architectures.• Conduct network engineering tasks including planning, design, development, and system studies.• Create and update network diagrams and documentation using Visio and AutoCAD.• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and network standards.• Provide technical guidance and support to junior personnel as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:

 

• Must meet Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8140.01 requirements for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II or higher.• Must hold an approved Networking Technologies certification aligned with IAT Level II or above.• Must maintain DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification for the duration of the contract.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Six (6) years of experience in network administration, facility operations, data management, information security, and/or information management.• Experience installing and maintaining enterprise network hardware including switches, routers, cabling systems, and wireless communications.• Experience supporting voice, video, and data networks (VTC).• Proficiency with network protocols, diagnostics, and test equipment.• Experience with Visio and AutoCAD for network design and documentation.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
