Full Job Description
Job Purpose

  • This role is for V6 engine durability test group at Honda's power unit division.
  • This position tests, supports design and bring powertrain components and technologies into our vehicles, ensuring that all marketability, reliability, regulatory, profitability, manufacturing, and design requirements and targets are met.
  • This position will deliver defined engineering assignments with minimal guidance, while expanding the breadth of your technical knowledge and deepen expertise. Responsible to train peers and provide support when needed.


Key Accountabilities

  • Testing, Simulation and Data setting:
    • Ensure assigned parts meet design specifications by planning and executing tests and simulations, conducting failure analysis, analyzing test / simulation results, and proposing design changes or recommending countermeasures.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Collate and analyse data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats.
  • Documentation:
    • Prepare moderately complex documentation (at the sub-system level) for review by more senior colleagues to record and submit all necessary information as the development process moves forward.
  • Project Management:
    • Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals. May support (or create for simple projects) the project schedule, coordinate project meetings, provide regular updates and reports, and contribute in meeting the project budget and timelines.
  • Personal Development:
    • Develop own expertise and capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
    • Gain or maintain external professional accreditations where relevant to improve performance and fulfil personal potential.
    • Build proficiency in relevant technology and increase knowledge of external regulations and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences, and specialist publications.


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Minimum educational qualifications:
    • Must have a college-level Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical) or a related STEM field of study.
  • Minimum work experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Other Job-specific skills:
    • Strong computer skills, and the ability to work with data analysis tools.
    • Ability to drive and evaluate vehicles dynamically.
    • Strong leadership capabilities where you will be responsible for guiding teams of engineers to meet vehicle function targets.


Workstyle

  • This is an onsite job. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
