Your Opportunity

BDO Canada's Montreal office is seeking a Senior Manager to join our U.S. Corporate Tax Services team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and leadership skills to support clients, lead complex tax planning engagements, and contribute to the growth of our practice through the following responsibilities:

  • Provide both technical and project management leadership to team members for U.S.Corporate Tax planning projects or assignments 

  • U.S. Corporate Tax planning assignments and projects typically involve providing advice to optimize clients' tax savings in the context of on-off Canada-U.S. cross border transactions, ongoing effective tax rate management, etc.

  • Apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to clients' businesses

  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of presentation materials and written publications

  • Provide leadership to the group's administrative processes

  • Responsible for tax research (including reviewing research for junior staff) on U.S. issues

  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team

Your experience and education

  • You have completed a professional designation (BCL, LLB, LLM, CPA)

  • You have a minimum of 7 years' experience in the public accounting industry 

  • You possess a minimum of three years of experience and expertise in a U.S. corporate tax management role

  • You are client service focused with the ability to train a team

  • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Bilingualism (French and English) Required: Due to the frequent and complex contact with our English-speaking partners and clients in Quebec and outside of Quebec, and the need to draft documents in English, knowledge of English is essential for this position.
