Location: San Francisco, Business Justification

Strategic Alignment with the team in San Francisco

The role's key activities are tightly coupled with the team and functions that are located in San Francisco - the "center of gravity" to support this role's function. The role requires close coordination and real time discussions to problem solve and iterate; co-location shortens the feedback loop, fosters common understanding. This aligns with other locally based teams, including DET. (Note: Atlanta presence is the indirect tax team hub for compliance related activities that are not directly related to this role's duties.)

Multiplier effect

Co-location for this role creates a multiplier effect on team output, especially considering the project orientation for this role (e.g. GTM initiative, audit, tax system issues), reducing risk and time to completion:
  • Faster shared understanding
  • Faster, better decisions - reduce misses in common understanding, more time to problem solve
  • Disproportionate output gains - the team achieves meaningfully greater output without a one-to-one increase in headcount
  • Reduced burden on existing staff - increases efficiency of current team members and managers to work on issues in real time
