The Role

As Senior Manager, Sustainment, Controls & Data Operations, you will lead the governance, controls, reporting, and data management functions supporting Corporate Lending Services (CLS). The team supports corporate banking clients across Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Latin America, servicing syndicated, bilateral, and participation loan facilities.

Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for strengthening operational controls, enhancing data quality, overseeing reporting and analytics, supporting audit and regulatory activities, and driving process improvement initiatives across the CLS operating model.

Controls & Governance
  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the CLS control framework
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), controls documentation, and training programs
  • Coordinate internal and external audit requests, regulatory reporting activities, management control reporting, and governance reviews
  • Monitor operational risks, control effectiveness, and remediation activities
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational risk standards


Reporting & Analytics
  • Lead the development and management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), productivity metrics, and operational reporting
  • Deliver meaningful business insights and analytics to support decision-making, resource planning, risk management, and operational performance
  • Enhance reporting capabilities through automation, standardization, and improved data governance practices
  • Provide management reporting and trend analysis to senior stakeholders


Data Operations & Quality Management
  • Lead LoanIQ data governance and data quality initiatives using established Data Stewardship frameworks
  • Develop controls and processes that improve data integrity, ownership, consistency, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with Operations and Technology teams to identify opportunities for automation and process optimization
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing manual processes and strengthening operational resiliency


Operational Support & Process Improvement
  • Oversee coordination of non-production activities, including cash reconciliation exceptions, audit activities, regulatory requests, and operational reviews
  • Partner with BAU teams to ensure operational exceptions are identified, tracked, and resolved appropriately
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, scalability, controls, and client service
  • Support strategic initiatives and transformation programs impacting Corporate Lending Services


Leadership
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for sustainment, controls, reporting, and data management activities
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Support employee development through coaching, succession planning, and ongoing capability building

  • Experience in corporate banking, loan operations, commercial lending operations, or capital markets operations
  • Strong understanding of operational controls, governance frameworks, audit management, and risk management principles
  • Experience developing and managing KPI, KRI, and operational reporting programs
  • Experience leading process improvement, operational excellence, or transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting operational and performance data
  • Experience with reconciliation processes, exception management, and operational controls
  • Familiarity with LoanIQ or similar commercial lending platforms is considered an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting tool proficiency
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence outcomes across multiple business functions
