The Senior Manager, Strategy and Operations plays a critical leadership role within the Enterprise Data & AI Technology organization-one of Scotiabank's most significant enterprise wide strategic initiatives. This organization drives data enabled decision making, AI innovation, and technology modernization across the Bank, requiring exceptional communication, financial stewardship, cross functional coordination, and disciplined execution.

As a central operational hub, the Senior Manager orchestrates activities across internal teams-including Procurement, Finance, Technology, and Third-Party Risk Management-providing the necessary inputs, reviews, and documentation to keep complex processes moving forward. This role is essential to ensure that strategies and initiatives across Data & AI are delivered effectively, in alignment with governance standards and the Bank's overall strategic priorities.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting processes. This role serves as a central point of coordination between Finance, Procurement, Technology Operations, helping to maintain strong financial controls and streamline operational workflows.
  • Support and foster strong cross-functional collaboration across Procurement, Third Party Risk Management teams for contract execution and minimize delays.
  • Review, rationalize, and optimize technology service and resource contracts, working closely with procurement, finance, and legal partners.
  • Support and contribute to Data and AI communication strategies within the broader organization such as tech blogs, newsletters, and releases
  • Support strategic planning cycles, leadership offsites, and transformation programs.
  • Document decisions, action items, and dependencies arising from meetings, ensuring clear follow-through and timely closure.
  • Oversee the end-to-end invoice lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, timely processing, and maintenance of an up-to-date invoice tracking repository.
  • Support Finance with accurate financial records, reconciliations, and tracking tools to support operational budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and mid-year planning cycles by consolidating financial input from business and technology partners
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support operational decision-making.
  • Support Finance to provide resource hiring forecasts across Data & AI.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Technology
  • 5yrs of professional experience across Project Management, Finance, Operations, Contract Management and Strategy within a technology-driven organization
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident working with financial data. Strong analytical capability and understanding of financial processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong communicator with a proven track record of clearly presenting insights and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership; adept at tailoring messaging and delivery to suit different audiences
  • Results-oriented self-starter with a bias toward action, capable of navigating complex, large-scale organizations and fostering strong cross-functional partnerships; experienced in stakeholder engagement within matrixed environments
  • Highly curious and eager to learn, bringing an adaptable and creative mindset to problem-solving
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders Finance Procurement, HR, Technology leadership, and business teams.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative in driving technology optimization and operational improvements.
