About the Role

The Senior Manager, Strategic Finance plays a critical role in driving business performance and shaping the long-term strategy of Fanatics Collect. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Strategic Finance, this position partners closely with leaders across the business to evaluate strategic investments, assess growth opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations that influence executive decision-making.

Unlike traditional FP&A roles focused on budgeting and forecasting, this position operates at the strategic layer of finance, leading complex financial modeling, pricing and monetization analyses, M&A support, market intelligence, and executive reporting. The ideal candidate combines exceptional analytical rigor with strong business judgment and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where they can independently take projects from raw data through executive-ready recommendations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial evaluation of Fanatics Collect's highest-priority strategic initiatives, including new business models, marketplace expansion, pricing optimization, and long-term growth investments.
  • Serve as the finance lead on complex cross-functional initiatives, partnering directly with leaders across Product, Marketing, Operations, Marketplace, Instant Rips, Vault, Commercial, and Corporate Development teams.
  • Build sophisticated three-statement operating models, discounted cash flow (DCF) valuations, scenario analyses, sensitivity models, and investment cases to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead financial diligence, valuation analyses, acquisition modeling, synergy assessments, and post-transaction business case development for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop executive-level recommendations on capital allocation, monetization strategy, customer economics, pricing, and portfolio optimization.
  • Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and industry analysis across consumer technology, marketplaces, fintech, gaming, sports, and collectibles to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Translate complex financial analyses into clear, concise recommendations for executive leadership, including Board presentations and investment committee materials.
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Accounting, Data Analytics, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure strategic recommendations are supported by accurate financial assumptions and data.
  • Lead multiple high-impact strategic projects simultaneously while establishing priorities, managing ambiguity, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to automate financial workflows and leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate modeling, analysis, and executive insight generation.
  • Mentor analysts and finance team members on financial modeling, investment analysis, business case development, and executive storytelling while helping establish best practices across Strategic Finance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Corporate Finance, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated expertise building complex integrated financial models, operating models, valuation analyses, merger models, and executive investment materials.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital allocation, valuation methodologies, financial statements, strategic planning, and investment analysis.
  • Proven ability to independently structure ambiguous business problems and develop executive-level recommendations with limited guidance.
  • Experience presenting analyses and recommendations to senior executives, business leaders, Boards, or investment committees.
  • Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial analyses for non-financial audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar analytical and visualization tools is a plus.
  • Experience within consumer technology, marketplaces, eCommerce, fintech, sports, gaming, collectibles, or other high-growth businesses is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar technologies to enhance financial analysis, research, workflow automation, and decision support.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional leaders, prioritize competing initiatives, and deliver results in fast-paced, highly ambiguous environments.
