Senior Manager Software, Biopharma is responsible for leading the global software engineering organization to deliver innovative, compliant, and scalable solutions that accelerate scientific discovery and transform patient outcomes worldwide. This position reports to the
Head of Software Engineering and is part of the Beckman Life Sciences Research and Development department working onsite at the Loveland, Colorado location.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Define and execute the software engineering strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Build, mentor, and manage high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, compliant solutions.
- Drive architectural decisions, technology stack selection, and ensure scalability, security, and performance.
- Partner with product management, R&D, QA, and regulatory teams to align software solutions with scientific and business needs.
- Ensure adherence to life sciences regulations (e.g., FDA, GxP, ISO) and manage cybersecurity and data privacy risks.
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and ROI.
The essential requirements of the job include: - Bachelor's Computer Engineering and 14+ years' experience in software engineering; or Master's/Doctoral and 12+ years and at least 4+ years in a global leadership role.
- Strong understanding of life sciences, healthcare, or regulated industries.
- Expertise in modern software architectures (Embedded PC Applications, .Net Technology etc.), DevOps, and data platforms.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (FDA, HIPAA, GDPR, GxP).
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
- Ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
- Track record of driving digital transformation and fostering innovation at scale.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:- Ability to travel - list specifics 25% travel, overnight, within territory or locations
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb, any other physical requirements
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: - Instrument Firmware/Software design and development
- Cloud design and development
- Systems engineering and architecture expertise

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
