Areas of Expertise: Leadership Coaching: Coaching school or district leaders to maximize time, talent, and curricular resources that support the delivery of high-quality 6-8 ELA instruction. Client Management: Managing the execution of a partner's scope of work, coordinating service delivery between team members and external partners through skilled communication and strong organizational skills, time management, and workflow management.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTThe Program department's primary purpose is to design, deliver, and continuously improve teacher professional learning programs that strengthen instructional practice and drive student achievement. The team's main functions include managing and implementing scopes of work with partners, providing coaching and professional learning for teachers and leaders, and creating research-based content and learning assets tailored to partner needs. The Program department contributes to Teaching Lab's mission by ensuring that every partnership drives measurable impact on teacher practice and student learning, advancing educational equity at scale.
ABOUT THE ROLEThe Senior Program Manager's primary responsibility is to implement high-quality programmatic services and manage complex projects that drive impact on educator practice, leader practice, and student learning. Along with project team members, school and district leaders, and cross-functional colleagues, the Senior Manager, Program will also hold responsibilities in the following areas:
- Designing and facilitating professional learning content, services, and tools/resources
- Providing direct-to-leader instructional coaching in service of improved implementation and student outcomes
- Serving as a content expert and, when needed, taking on project leadership roles
- Managing project plans, contracts, and invoices to ensure accurate, timely delivery of services
- Collaborating across departments and, when applicable, supporting team members through coaching or people management
The Senior Manager, Program role is a mid-level position with some management responsibilities. This role is essential to ensuring the successful delivery of programmatic goals, strong implementation of organizational services, and the long-term sustainability of Teaching Lab's partnerships. Success in this position requires strong collaboration, organizational skills, adaptability, content expertise, and a commitment to advancing excellent teaching, leading, and learning.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Work Experience, and Knowledge- Bachelor's degree
- Five (5) or more years of combined experience working in PK-12 education, with a minimum of two years of experience teaching PK-12 students from traditionally underserved backgrounds, with demonstrated evidence of impact
- Three (3) or more years of combined experience working with partners outside of their organization to manage workflow or deliver services
- Three (3) or more years of combined experience planning and implementing projects
- Two (2) or more years of combined experience leading or coaching school leaders to implement HQIM (in any subject area)
- Deep knowledge and experience with College- and Career-Ready ELA content and practice standards
- Experience designing impactful professional learning for school leaders
- Experience facilitating impactful professional learning or coaching for school leaders
- Experience managing relationships with clients and stakeholders in an education context
- Experience teaching or coaching at least one of the following curricula:
- ELA (EL Education, Fundations, Guidebooks, Heggerty, HMH Into Reading, HMH Into Literature, Orton Gillingham, UFLI, and Wit and Wisdom, S.P.I.R.E, Phonics For Reading, REWARDS, STARI, Wilson Reading System, Just Words, Aprendo Leyendo)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Advanced degree
- Two (2) or more years experience as a school or district leader
- Experience providing professional learning support and services in and for consultative organizations

- Travel could be required for the role. Travel is determined based on business needs and can vary depending on partnership/contract requirements.

COMPENSATIONThe full salary range for this position is $90,500 - $136,889 annually. This range represents the full earning potential for the role, including opportunities for salary growth over time based on performance, tenure, and organizational budget.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $90,500 - $119,381. Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint of the full salary range ($119,381) to allow for continued growth in the role over time. There are two types of experience being considered for this role: Experience that is directly relevant to the role and Total Working Experience, in all fields. This includes: internships, part-time work, and consulting work. In collaboration with the hiring manager, the People and Culture team calculates experience based on the candidate's most current resume. When calculating the offer, consideration is given to candidates who possess additional qualifications (i.e., desired qualifications).
