Full Job Description
The Practice Technology Senior Manager - Disputes assists case teams and clients in addressing event-driven issues associated with complex disputes, investigations, litigations, arbitrations, and trials. The Practice Technology Senior Manager - Disputes delivers strategic technology solutions requiring in-depth or rapid response analysis of large sets of structured and unstructured data. The Practice Technology Senior Manager - Disputes reports to the Practice Technology Associate Director - Disputes.

Requirements include 8+ years of law firm, Electronic Discovery vendor, and/or in-house practice support experience, with a strong emphasis on eDiscovery and AI technologies as they relate to disputes, litigations, arbitrations, and trials. This position will be responsible for identifying emerging technologies appropriate for solving needs on complex matters. Expert understanding of systems architecture and application implementation is required. Experience as an eDiscovery Project Manager/Senior Project Manager with hands-on technology experience and people-management experience a must.

Also necessary are strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, interacting with command over a global team. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced high performing environment under strict deadlines, effectively managing multiple responsibilities, and meet budget and deadline demands.

The roles and responsibilities of this job include:
  • Coordinate and support domestic and international travel for case-related needs and client engagements.
  • Advise on vendor selection and manage relationships, including negotiating and overseeing vendor deliverables.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for client IT interviews, including drafting tailored questionnaires and strategic technology use.
  • Consult case teams on electronic discovery (eDiscovery) best practices, document workflows, and matter management strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance on early case assessment and data analysis strategies to support informed legal decisions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced technologies and analytics to improve document review and data management workflows.
  • Translate complex machine learning and advanced technology concepts for non-technical stakeholders to support firmwide technology adoption.
  • Prepare comprehensive project plans, budgets, and technology recommendations for discovery and litigation support initiatives.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of vendor platforms and provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to case teams.
  • Use visualization tools to help legal teams interpret and communicate complex data effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with data security standards in collaboration with internal technology and security teams.
  • Track and analyze incoming client data, ensuring accurate processing, reporting, and case team updates.
  • Train and mentor Practice Technology team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and continuous professional development.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, personnel, and workflows of the Practice Technology team, ensuring project quality and timely delivery.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to define and deploy innovative technology toolkits that support complex litigation and investigations.


The qualifications for this role are:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; technical degree preferred
  • 8+ years' experience working with and managing eDiscovery projects, technology, and teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of CAL and TAR workflows, Relativity Analytics, REL aiR, Opus Cases, Intella, eZReview, CaseRooms, ReadySuite, and other eDiscovery applications
  • Familiarity with e-Discovery cloud and AI solutions are a big plus.
  • Project management and business analysis certification a plus; PMP or ACEDS.
  • Experience with government investigation matters and managing the data deliverables.
  • Experience managing cases across multiple offices, domestic and/or international, on large matters.
  • Thorough knowledge of the electronic discovery process, including evolving standards created through case law, rulemaking, and groups such as EDRM and The Sedona Conference.
  • Experience training users on firm applications.
  • Extensive experience in identifying, customizing, and implementing eDiscovery technology solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently while maintaining a strong client service orientation.
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and external partners.

The New York salary range is $220,000 - $330,000.
