Full Job Description
Requisition ID: 263881 Leads and oversees the Physical Threat Intelligence program within Intelligence globally, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. • Leads and oversees Physical Threat Intelligence program to deliver proactive threat anticipation and prevention. • Manages the intelligence lifecycle, operating model, standards, and best practices, in direct support of the Physical Security program, to enable loss prevention and risk mitigation. • Oversees tactical operational and strategic analysis to convert information into actionable intelligence, leveraging appropriate analytical methodologies, tools, and quality controls. • Ensure timely dissemination and communication of intelligence products (e.g., advisories, bulletins, alerts, early warnings, and ad hoc reporting), to the Physical Security teams, leadership, as well as other relevant operational and executive stakeholders. • Maintain and expand internal and external partnerships and information-sharing relationships (e.g., other corporate functions as well as law enforcement, government, other financial institutions, and industry groups) to strengthen situational awareness and investigative and risk mitigation outcomes. • Champion and continuously improve intelligence systems, processes, and information feeds; identify and implement new analytical tools and future-state solutions to increase effectiveness and efficiency. • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values and its Code of Conduct • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have: • Minimum 4-year university/college degree/diploma and/or equivalent certifications/designations in the fields of Criminal or Military Intelligence, Security Studies, International Affairs, Political Science, Criminology, Law, or similar fields. • 7+ years of experience in intelligence collection/analysis and/or investigations in a law enforcement, military, regulatory and/or corporate environments • 3-5 years of people leadership experience, demonstrating strong employee and team engagement capabilities • 5 years of experience in the use of Open Source, Subscription based, and proprietary intelligence collection and production technology and analytical tools • Knowledge of Canadian and global Criminal, Evidence and Privacy legislation, case law and regulations • Knowledge, insights and keen interest in geopolitical trends and developments, global economic trends and developments and climate / environmental developments • 5 years of leadership experience, demonstrating strong employee and team engagement capabilities in an intelligence/investigative environment would be considered an asset • Fluency in Spanish would be considered an asset • A mix of education and experience in structuring, analyzing and visualizing data, from multiple sources, to support insights, analysis and reporting responsibilities would be considered an asset What's in it for you? • An inclusive & collaborative working environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and celebrates success! • We offer a competitive rewards package: Performance bonus, Employee Share Ownership Program, and Pension Plan Matching, Health Benefits from day one! • Your career matters!
