The roleNuclearn is hiring its first Senior Manager of Field Marketing and Events, and the job is to turn a packed calendar of nuclear industry conferences and trade shows into a real pipeline engine. We show up everywhere our customers and prospects do, and today that presence runs on scattered ownership and last-minute scramble. Your job is to make it run on a repeatable playbook.
We're post product-market fit and scaling, and our event calendar is only getting heavier. Booths and sponsorships without a coordinated plan before, during, and after each show leave meetings unbooked and pipeline on the table. You'll own the full lifecycle: pre-event strategy and outreach, on-site execution and coordination, and post-event follow-up that converts conversations into meetings.
You'll report to our VP of Marketing and partner daily with Sales, since this role exists to fuel their pipeline. This is an individual contributor role; you're building the function, not managing a team. Two things matter most, a calendar of events that runs like clockwork, and a steady flow of booked meetings that Sales can trust came from real interest.
What you'll do- Event strategy and calendar. Decide which nuclear industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events are worth our budget and people, and build the annual calendar around where our buyers actually are.
- Pre-event coordination. Own logistics, booth and sponsorship execution, staffing plans, and pre-show outreach that fills our calendar with meetings before the doors even open.
- On-site execution. Be the person who makes sure the booth is built, the team knows the plan, meetings happen on time, and nothing falls through the cracks while we're in the room with customers.
- Post-event follow-up and conversion. Own the communications that turn a badge scan or a booth conversation into a booked meeting, and make sure no lead goes cold waiting on a follow-up that never comes.
- Sales support strategy. Build the connective tissue between field marketing and the sales team: briefing reps before shows, arming them with the right materials, and reporting back on what events actually produced in pipeline.
- Reporting and iteration. Track what each event costs and what it returns in meetings and pipeline, and use that to sharpen next year's calendar instead of repeating it by habit.
About youYou've spent 5+ years in field marketing, event marketing, or a hybrid marketing/sales-development role at a B2B company, and you've owned an event calendar end to end, not just staffed a booth someone else planned.
You think in systems, not one-off shows. When an event ends, you already know what worked, what didn't, and what changes before the next one.
You're comfortable building without a playbook. There's no field marketing function here yet, so you're the one who decides what good looks like and then builds it.
You translate between Marketing and Sales without taking a side. You understand why Sales wants booked meetings and why Marketing wants brand presence, and you build a plan that delivers both.
You're an AI-fluent professional. You use AI tools in your own work, and you can think about where AI changes how field marketing gets done, from outreach personalization to post-event reporting.
You're comfortable with candor. You'll tell Sales when a lead isn't sales-ready yet. You'll tell leadership when an event isn't earning its budget. We say the hard things here, with facts and without spin.
Nice to have, not required:- Experience standing up a field marketing function from scratch rather than inheriting a mature one
- Background in B2B SaaS with a focus on pipeline generation, not just brand awareness
- Familiarity with booking and outreach tooling (sequences, meeting scheduling, CRM-driven follow-up)
- Experience in a regulated, technical, or long-sales-cycle industry
You'll be in your element if...We try to be honest about where people thrive here, because that saves everyone time. Some patterns we've seen:
- You're comfortable building without a playbook. A lot of what you'll do here, you'll figure out as you go. We're past product-market fit, but we're still building most of the systems around it.
- You're energized by fast cadence. The work moves fast. Customers are growing. Priorities shift. People who do well here lean into that pace rather than waiting for it to settle.
- You bring decisions, not just questions. Our managers expect you to come with "Here's what I'm going to do, unless you tell me otherwise," not "What should I do?"
- You want candid feedback. We tell each other the hard things, with facts and without spin. People who do well here find this energizing, not uncomfortable.
- You like reaching across function lines. Small team means everyone wears multiple hats. The boundary of your role is whatever the work needs, and that's a feature, not a bug.
- You don't mind travel. A heavy trade show calendar means real time on the road and on your feet at a booth, and you find that energizing rather than draining.
How we workWe're a values-driven company. Six values shape how we work, and three will be especially visible in this role:
Ownership and Urgency. See it, own it, fix it. You're building this function from nothing, so when you see a broken process, you fix it instead of filing a ticket about it.
Resourcefulness. Every dollar and hour matters, maximize impact. You'll be one person building for a growing team, so where you spend your time and budget is itself a judgment call that matters.
Excellence through Iteration. Move quickly, never carelessly; rework is failure, iteration is not. A solid follow-up sequence that ships before the next show and improves beats a perfect one that lands after the calendar's already moved on.
