A growing consumer products company is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to help lead core accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and close processes in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage accounting execution while also improving processes, strengthening controls, and partnering cross-functionally with finance, operations, tax, and executive leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, experience leading teams, and the ability to operate in a dynamic business with multiple priorities, reporting requirements, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
- Support consolidated reporting and analysis across the business
- Maintain and improve internal controls over financial processes and reporting
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders
- Research and address technical accounting matters as needed
- Assess current accounting processes and implement improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Own key general ledger and master data integrity, including chart of accounts and related financial data
- Oversee compliance with applicable accounting, tax, statutory, and reporting requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, tax, operations, and leadership to support business performance and strategic initiatives
- Support audits, special projects, process automation, and system-related initiatives
- Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; exposure to international reporting requirements is helpful
- Experience managing close, reporting, controls, and accounting operations
- Prior people leadership or team management experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner across departments
- High level of integrity, accountability, and sound professional judgment
Preferred Background
- CPA or equivalent credential preferred
- Experience in consumer products, retail, distribution, manufacturing, or other product-based environments
- Exposure to ERP systems, reporting tools, system implementations, or process automation initiatives
