Description And Requirements:Centric Brands has an immediate opening for an experienced Sr. Manager of Logistics Operations. This role will drive the adoption of leading operational best practices across our network. This leader will grow the team and individuals to proactively solve problems before they occur, quickly identify, and adopt both short/long term solutions while driving system wide improvements working collaboratively and strategically both internally and externally to improve operations.
The Sr. Manager will be accountable for many aspects of logistics including planning and execution within our international transportation network, operational execution of all shipments and deliveries (EDI, ASN, Destination receipt auditing, Port of Entry availability, etc).
This position will be based in Greensboro, NC. It will follow a hybrid work schedule of Monday-Thursday in office with Friday being a remote work day. This schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic
- Develop and implement short/long term logistics strategies to support the growth of the organization in a cost-effective manner while improving service and reliability
- Monitor and drive key performance end to end metrics to ensure that we are providing an excellent customer experience and delivering results
- Strong experience developing KPI’s monitoring and auditing performance, managing execution against commitments, aggressively implementing preventive and corrective actions.
- Proactively develop processes to prevent issues from occurring/reoccurring, being proactive in solving issues before internal customers identity bringing solutions and answers
- Develop and Project manage items to improve processes, decrease error rates, enhanced visibility to support strategic decision making
- Establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with all production/sourcing and other internal customers, as well as outside groups booking agents, transportation, custom brokers, customers and suppliers.
- Ensure the global visibility and transmission of EDI (856/943/944) transmissions
- For more than 10k containers annually from multiple origins (including Southeast Asia, Western Central Asia as well as Africa) to multiple destinations (US, CA, UK, EU, MX etc)
- Ensure the global visibility and transmission of EDI (856/943/944) transmissions
- Drive and support the distribution receiving audit and discrepancy resolution and improvements
- Drive and support the timely clearance and releases of +10,000 containers, working with appropriate parties proactively to resolve issues, improving processes and visibility
- Work collaboratively to support/decipher PO information to best enable constant and timely flow of materials
- Research and implement new tools to aid in resolving complex and routine process issues while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Day to Day Operations
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with effective communication and thorough follow through
- Understand and be able to do daily tasks of team members in support of creating greater efficiencies through improved processes/automation/visibility/metrics and data
- Look after and ensure the continued flow of data in support of our shipments with adequate monitoring systems (KPI’s dashboards etc) in place for EDI/ASN/300’s/943/944 supporting the team with issues and improvements in overall processes
- Support the timely release of cargo with appropriate parties and team members cross functionally ensuring no demurrage and improved overall timing and flow of shipments for shipments globally.
- Support receiving audit team, with their daily functions while searching for and creating efficiencies in the process working cross functionally utilizing our buildout of KPI’s and metrics around processes and issues
- Drive increased operational visibility and efficiency with final mile handoff information including but not limited to: On holds, OBL releases, capacity reviews, etc
- Develop and manage against key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics and reporting to help drive execution, accountability and process uniformity and compliance across all divisions, regions, with all transportation providers and vendors
- Partner with Finance and Production to manage and report on all vendor shipping/receipt issues
- Standardize, document, and improve logistics processes, standard operating procedures, and playbooks, ensuring implementation of best practices across the department
- Team Management
- Mentor, train and develop action based and service-oriented teammate, supporting career progression and building of Logistics Department Bench
- Cultivate a positive team culture of exceeding expectations, continuous improvement, proactive problem-solving and data driven leaders
- Support and Build relationship and trust with cross functional partners
- Lead team of 4+ direct reports and supporting staff located across the globe
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed
Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have
- 10+ years of international transportation experience in a fast-paced environment with at least 5 years in a leadership role for an importer (US or Global) or 3rd Party Logistics Provider (apparel experience is a plus)
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management preferred
- Strong experience with demonstrated successes across complex multidivisional operations, with quantifiable results showcasing improvements across processes, operations and spend categories (lean or six sigma experience highly valued) including process mapping and process re-design
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and synthesize multiple points of view into a streamlined action plan
- Strong background leading teams improving overall service and KPI’s.
- Proven ability as a passionate people-centric leader with exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build, lead, motivate, drive performance and accountability within a team.
- Able to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize projects to delegate tasks appropriately
- High analytical ability and drive to gather and interpret data beyond surface level to further develop, recommend and implement solutions
- Proven track record for anticipating issues and having implemented processes/standards to address items before they occur and ability to adjust on the move.
- Strong experience communicating at many different levels of an organization, clear, concise messaging/presentation experience is a must have.
- High level expertise/experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word), data visualization tools/dashboard development (e.g., Power BI, etc.)
- SAP Experience needed
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
