Full Job Description

Position Summary:  We are seeking an experienced IT Manager – Supply Chain & SAP AFS to lead the technology strategy, delivery, and ongoing support of supply chain applications within our apparel and fashion business.

 

This is a techno-functional IT management role responsible for our customized SAP AFS environment and related supply chain, retail, and e-commerce systems. The IT Manager will partner closely with business leaders across supply chain, sourcing, inventory, operations, finance, retail, and e-commerce to translate business requirements into effective, scalable, and cost-efficient technology solutions.

 

The ideal candidate will combine strong SAP AFS (SD/MM) expertise, deep knowledge of apparel and fashion business processes, proven experience delivering complex IT initiatives, and the ability to lead internal teams and external technology partners. This role requires someone who can operate comfortably at both the strategic and hands-on levels—from partnering with business leadership on priorities to working with SAP functional and technical teams to resolve complex issues and deliver solutions.

 

This position will be based in Greensboro, NC. It will follow a hybrid work schedule of Monday–Thursday in the office, with Friday being a remote work day. This schedule is subject to change based on business needs.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the IT strategy for supply chain systems, aligning with business goals and industry best practices. Partner with business teams on priorities and deliver cost effective and timely solutions. Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and trends within the apparel and fashion supply chain landscape.
  • SAP AFS Expertise: Oversee the management and optimization of our customized SAP AFS environment, including configuration, customization, integration, and upgrades.  
  • Project Management: Lead and manage complex IT projects related to supply chain, retail, ecomm systems, including implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. Utilize project management methodologies to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery, following SAP RICEF methodologies.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders across various departments (e.g., operations, inventory, finance, retail, ecomm, sourcing) to understand their needs and translate them into effective IT solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve critical system issues and provide timely support to business users.

Skills and Requirements

 

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on supply chain systems within the apparel and fashion industry, preferred with EDI experience.  
  • Extensive experience with SAP AFS (SD/MM) implementation, configuration, customization, and support.
  • Strong working knowledge of ABAP development a plus
  • Experience working with onsite and offshore AMS providers for project delivery and support
  • Deep understanding of apparel and fashion business processes, including order to cash, procure to pay, forecast to stock, logistics, and retail, ecomm.
  • Experience with 3PL environment, integration with Nexus infor, inspectorio, NuOrder and Shopify is a plus.  
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects and leading SAP configuration and development teams.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with senior executives, business partners, IT peers, and external vendors.
  • Excellent organization skills, project management, resource planning, problem solving, interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
  • Certification – Any certification, SAP certifications, PMP are highly desirable.
