Full Job Description
THE PURPOSE:
The Senior Manager, L&D is responsible for building, scaling, and owning the learning ecosystem at True Religion-from frontline retail associates to corporate teams. This role exists to drive a high-performance culture through best-in-class training programs, a fully implemented LMS, and development pathways that directly impact selling behaviors, operational excellence, and employee retention. The ideal candidate will play a key role in launching and managing a new LMS platform while designing scalable onboarding, product, and leadership development programs, contributing to True Religion's continued growth by ensuring every team member-in-store and at HQ-has the tools, knowledge, and skills to perform at their best.

THE ROLE (what you are accountable for):
  • Lead LMS Implementation and Launch: Own the end-to-end implementation and launch of a new Learning Management System. Define the LMS architecture, user roles, and reporting framework. Partner with IT, HR, and Operations to ensure a seamless rollout across corporate and retail populations, and develop a post-launch adoption and engagement strategy.
  • Design and Execute Retail Training Programs: Develop comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training programs for store associates, keyholder, and store management populations. Build product knowledge, selling skills, brand story, and operational standards curricula that are engaging, mobile-friendly, and scalable across a multi-door fleet.
  • Build Corporate Learning and Leadership Development: Design and deliver learning experiences for HQ employees across functional areas including onboarding, management development, and leadership progression pathways. Identify high-potential talent and create structured development plans in partnership with HR and senior leadership.
  • Develop and Manage Learning Content: Create, curate, and maintain a robust library of training content including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, video content, and assessments. Ensure all content reflects True Religion brand voice, is legally compliant, and is regularly refreshed to stay current with product, process, and business changes.
  • Drive Compliance and Mandatory Training: Own the calendar and delivery of all required compliance training including harassment prevention, safety, loss prevention, and onboarding compliance modules. Maintain completion records within the LMS and report out regularly to HR and Legal stakeholders.
  • Measure Training Effectiveness and ROI: Establish KPIs and reporting cadences to measure training effectiveness, learner engagement, and business impact. Use data from the LMS, performance management systems, and operational metrics to continuously improve learning programs and demonstrate L&D's contribution to business outcomes.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally to Identify Learning Needs: Conduct ongoing needs assessments through partnerships with Retail Operations, Merchandising, HR, and Marketing. Translate business priorities, performance gaps, and strategic initiatives into actionable learning solutions that are delivered on time and on budget.

YOU ARE:
You bring a strong combination of retail learning expertise and instructional design capability, with a proven ability to build programs that stick on the sales floor and in the conference room. You are a natural project manager who can take an LMS from procurement through launch while simultaneously running a full training calendar. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, take ownership of outcomes from strategy through execution, and lead with both empathy and accountability. You are as energized by building something from scratch as you are by coaching a store manager to unlock their potential.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years of Learning & Development experience, with at least 2 years in a retail or multi-unit environment
  • Hands-on LMS implementation and launch experience, including vendor evaluation, configuration, content migration, user onboarding, and post-launch adoption management
  • Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating retail-focused training programs including new hire onboarding, product knowledge, selling skills, and store operations
  • Proven instructional design skills across multiple modalities: e-learning, ILT, virtual, video, and microlearning; proficiency with tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, or equivalent authoring platforms
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience measuring training effectiveness and reporting on learning outcomes, completions, and business impact metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
  • Background in fashion, apparel, or specialty retail with an understanding of seasonal retail cycles and the demands of a store-based workforce
  • Experience managing L&D in a high-growth or turnaround environment, with demonstrated ability to build programs with limited resources
  • Familiarity with talent management platforms, HRIS integrations with LMS systems, and compliance training requirements in California and multi-state environments

ADDITIONAL ROLE INFORMATION:
  • Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000. This is a full-time, exempt position.
