Job DescriptionAs part of the dynamic, results-oriented Corporate Marketing organization, the Senior Manager, Global Events & Experiences will play a key role within WD's Brand Strategy & Experience team. The primary objective of this role is to lead the centralized strategic planning of WD's Tier-1 global industry events and experiential programs, defining the global vision, priorities, and experience frameworks that guide how WD shows up at its most important market moments.
WD is the storage foundation of the AI-driven data economy, delivering durable storage systems that form the indispensable infrastructure behind AI innovation. Industry events are critical moments where this leadership must be demonstrated. The Senior Manager, Global Events & Experiences will bring this narrative to life through high-impact brand experiences that showcase WD's leadership in capacity, performance, and efficiency across the global AI infrastructure ecosystem.
Working closely with AR/PR, Brand, Channel Marketing, Communications, Product Marketing, and Sales, and regional teams, this role ensures WD shows up with clarity, credibility, and consistency across Tier-1 global industry conferences, executive engagements, and ecosystem moments. Regional and channel teams play a critical role in execution, while this role provides the centralized strategy and alignment across the organization.

Key Duties - Set the strategic direction for WD's presence at Tier-1 global technology events and conferences
• Develop integrated pre-event, at-event, and post-event marketing strategies in partnership with Corporate Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications, Digital, Customer Marketing, and Sales to maximize awareness, engagement, and business impact.
- Serve as the steward of WD's event narrative, ensuring a consistent brand experience across regions, audiences, executive presentations, booths, customer engagements, and ecosystem activations.
- Develop integrated event strategies including booth experiences, executive engagements, partner activations, and thought leadership programs
- Continuously assess the evolving global event and industry landscape, emerging conferences and ecosystem shifts to anticipate where WD should show up next, and recommend which new events to enter, scale, sustain, or exit.
- Lead planning of WD's presence at Tier-1 global technology events, ensuring the company's role as the storage foundation of the AI-driven data economy is clearly demonstrated through messaging, experiences, and executive engagement.
- Design the frameworks and principles that guide experiential programs and translate WD's enterprise narrative into visible proof points across AI infrastructure, data innovation, and hyperscale ecosystems.
- Partner with regional and channel teams responsible for execution resources and delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional alignment across Product Marketing, Sales, Communications, and Brand Strategy teams.
- Partner with PR and executive communications teams to develop high-impact executive engagement strategies including keynote platforms, analyst engagements, media opportunities, and VIP experiences.
- Support executive visibility through keynotes, panel discussions, customer roundtables, and ecosystem engagements.
- Establish planning processes, governance, and operating rhythms that align Product Marketing, Sales, Regional Marketing, Communications, Brand, and executive stakeholders around shared event objectives.
- Capture strategic content and insights from events in partnership with Customer Marketing and Communications teams
- Define success metrics and business KPIs for strategic events, measuring brand impact, customer engagement, executive influence, and organizational learnings to continuously improve future programs.
- Build scalable processes and operational frameworks to support the future growth of WD's global events function.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience working in enterprise IT, AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, or data infrastructure markets
- Familiarity with major industry conferences such as AI infrastructure, hyperscale, or enterprise technology events
- Proven track record managing large-scale global industry conferences and brand activations
- Experience managing agencies, vendors, and complex event production environments
- Strong cross-functional collaboration across marketing, sales, and executive stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with exceptional executive presence and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Skillful verbal and written communicator
- Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits Details- An employee's pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
- The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
- If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws. You may also be eligible for shift differential pay, depending on the shift to which you are assigned.
- You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under either WD's Short Term Incentive Plan ("STI Plan") or the Sales Incentive Plan ("SIP") which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance, depending on your role and your performance. You may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan.
