Purpose

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Strategic Initiatives is responsible for leading key financial planning processes and strategic transformation initiatives across International Wealth Management (IWM). The role partners closely with Finance leadership, business stakeholders, International Banking, Technology, and Enterprise Finance teams to drive improvements in forecasting, planning, performance management, and financial decision-making. This position will lead major Finance transformation initiatives, including the migration and optimization of Anaplan, the development of consistent business segmentation methodologies, and the implementation of scalable processes that enhance transparency, efficiency, and strategic insight.

Financial Planning & Performance Management
  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes across International Wealth Management.
  • Coordinate financial planning activities across multiple jurisdictions and business units.
  • Develop financial models and scenarios to support business strategy, investment decisions, and resource allocation.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support Quarterly Management Reviews (QMRs), Executive Reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Identify financial risks, opportunities, and emerging trends impacting business performance.
  • Partner with business leaders to improve forecast accuracy and strengthen financial accountability.


Strategic Projects & Finance Transformation
  • Lead the migration, implementation, and continuous enhancement of Anaplan planning capabilities across International Wealth Management.
  • Partner with Enterprise Finance teams to improve planning processes, system integration, and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Drive strategic projects aimed at improving financial transparency, planning effectiveness, and management reporting.
  • Lead initiatives to align business performance views, reporting structures, and financial analyses across client segments and business lines.
  • Develop and implement standardized methodologies for segment reporting and performance measurement across the organization.
  • Evaluate and execute Finance transformation opportunities that improve scalability, efficiency, and decision support capabilities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives that simplify workflows, eliminate manual activities, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Support the development of business cases and financial evaluations for strategic investments and organizational initiatives.
  • Act as Finance lead on cross-functional projects involving Wealth Management, International Banking, Technology, and Corporate Finance stakeholders.


Business Partnership & Decision Support
  • Act as a strategic advisor to Finance and business leadership teams.
  • Translate business strategies and operational initiatives into financial implications and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide financial leadership and support for ad hoc projects, executive requests, strategic analyses, and special initiatives.
  • Collaborate with International Banking Finance teams to identify opportunities for alignment, consistency, and synergies across planning processes, performance measurement frameworks, and financial management practices.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations to support senior management decision-making.


Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members.
  • Establish objectives and priorities aligned with Finance and business goals.
  • Ensure the effective execution of planning processes, transformation initiatives, and strategic projects.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Business Finance, Strategic Finance, or Finance Transformation roles.
  • Experience within Financial Services, Wealth Management, Banking, or Asset Management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale Finance transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business performance processes.
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional strategic projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with Anaplan, including implementation, optimization, financial planning, forecasting, and modeling.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams and presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent designation is considered an asset.


Technical Skills
  • Advanced financial planning and forecasting expertise.
  • Strong financial modeling and scenario analysis capabilities.
  • Significant Anaplan experience, including planning model design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and financial reporting solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Finance transformation, process redesign, and operating model optimization.
  • Experience working with complex data environments and enterprise financial systems.

  • Experience defining business segmentation, management reporting structures, or profitability frameworks.
