The Opportunity TPS is seeking a highly motivated Service Sales Manager to drive profitable service growth while strengthening customer relationships throughout the lifecycle of TPS equipment.
This is a hybrid commercial and operational leadership role focused on expanding field service revenue through preventive maintenance agreements, commissioning services, emergency response support, upgrade and modernization projects, equipment assessments, and long-term service partnerships.
The successful candidate will serve as the primary interface between customers, sales, project management, and service operations to ensure exceptional customer experience and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities Service Sales & Business Development - Develop and execute a service growth strategy focused on:
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) Agreements
- Commissioning & Start-Up Services
- Emergency Service Programs
- Upgrade & Modernization Projects
- Arc Flash Studies & Assessments
- ATS and Switchgear Retrofits
- Data Center Service Programs
- Develop and manage a robust pipeline of service opportunities.
- Identify lifecycle revenue opportunities within TPS's installed base.
- Partner with Business Development Managers, Account Executives, and Sales Application Engineers to identify service opportunities attached to capital equipment projects.
- Generate new service business with end users, contractors, engineers, consultants, EPC firms, and facility operators.
- Meet or exceed annual bookings, revenue, and gross margin objectives.
Customer & Account Management - Build executive and working-level relationships with key customers.
- Conduct periodic customer visits, site surveys, and equipment assessments.
- Develop long-term account plans focused on increasing service revenue and customer retention.
- Act as a trusted advisor regarding equipment reliability, maintenance strategies, and modernization planning.
- Ensure rapid escalation and resolution of customer concerns.
Field Service Coordination - Coordinate field service activities with Service Supervisors, Coordinators, and Technicians.
- Assist with scheduling and prioritizing service resources to support customer commitments.
- Facilitate smooth handoffs between project teams and field service organizations.
- Support commissioning and warranty activities as required.
- Monitor project execution to ensure customer expectations are met.
Lifecycle Services & Modernization - Identify aging equipment and modernization opportunities.
- Protection relay upgrades
- Arc flash mitigation solutions
- Support customers in developing long-term equipment lifecycle management plans.
Commercial Leadership - Prepare service quotations and customer proposals.
- Drive pricing discipline and margin improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate CRM opportunity tracking and forecasting.
- Deliver monthly business reviews covering:
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Sales leadership on strategic growth initiatives.
Brand & Market Development - Represent TPS at industry conferences, customer events, and regional trade shows.
- Promote TPS's service capabilities throughout North America.
- Support growth initiatives within Data Centers, Utilities, Critical Infrastructure, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, and Industrial markets.
- Strengthen awareness of TPS's complete lifecycle service offering.
Required Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in technical sales, field service, project management, or aftermarket services within the electrical power industry.
- Experience working with one or more of:
- Medium Voltage Switchgear
- Automatic Transfer Switches
- Power Distribution Equipment
- Data Center Power Infrastructure
- Proven success developing customer relationships and growing revenue.
- Strong understanding of service agreements, commissioning, maintenance practices, and electrical equipment lifecycle management.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or related discipline.
- Experience supporting data center customers, utilities, healthcare facilities, or mission-critical environments.
- Understanding of NETA testing, commissioning practices, or field service operations.
- Experience selling field service, maintenance contracts, or modernization projects.
- Knowledge of power system studies, protection, controls, and reliability programs.
