Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

This role leads the development and execution of the Enterprise Project Management Office's enterprise portfolio data, reporting and insights capability, enabling stronger portfolio visibility, more consistent decision-making and improved execution outcomes across RBC.

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Portfolio Data, Reporting & Insights is responsible for establishing the data standards, reporting structures, dashboards and insight capabilities required to create a trusted enterprise view of project and portfolio performance. The role brings together data from Planview and other enterprise sources to provide clear, consistent and actionable visibility into portfolio health, risks, delivery performance, benefits and emerging trends.

A key focus of the mandate is advancing RBC from largely retrospective project reporting toward more integrated enterprise portfolio intelligence, including leading indicators, trend analysis and predictive insights that support better business and portfolio decisions. Planview will be an important enabler of this capability, alongside other enterprise data sources and technology platforms.

What will you do?
  • Develop and manage enterprise-level dashboards, scorecards and reporting that provide clear visibility into project and portfolio health, risks, performance, benefits and key indicators.
  • Serve as the primary EPMO point of contact for Planview, working closely with the vendor, platform support teams and PMOs to triage issues, resolve reporting and configuration challenges, co-ordinate enhancements, and support enterprise users.
  • Define and implement the enterprise portfolio data strategy, minimum data and governance standards and reporting framework, partnering with PMOs and business areas to improve data quality, consistency and reporting maturity.
  • Bring together Planview and other enterprise data sources to enable reliable, scalable enterprise reporting and increasingly integrated portfolio visibility.
  • Partner with technology and platform teams on Planview governance, configuration, data integrity and reporting capabilities, translating business requirements into scalable solutions and resolving complex data and reporting issues.
  • Develop leading and lagging indicators, trend analysis, risk heatmaps and predictive insights that help leaders identify emerging delivery risks and opportunities earlier.
  • Analyze enterprise execution and portfolio trends and translate complex information into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Support executive-level monthly and quarterly reporting, including reporting for ECCO and relevant executive and Board committees, as well as the EPMOs Jira reporting and dashboard capabilities.
  • Identify systemic data, process and reporting opportunities and implement scalable solutions that improve enterprise visibility, user experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Enable self-service reporting and data visualization capabilities and support the evolution of Strategic Portfolio Management by strengthening the data, visibility and insights available to inform portfolio and investment decisions.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • Extensive experience in business intelligence, analytics, enterprise portfolio reporting and/or data strategy within a large, complex organization.
  • Proven experience developing executive dashboards, scorecards, portfolio reporting and decision-support capabilities using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish data standards, improve data quality and translate complex data into meaningful business and executive insights.
  • Strong executive communication and data-storytelling capabilities, with the ability to translate complex portfolio information into clear implications and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect portfolio-management processes, enterprise data and technology capabilities to business outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business-analysis and problem-solving capabilities, with experience translating complex business requirements into scalable data, reporting and technology solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills across multiple businesses and functions.
  • Experience working with enterprise portfolio/project-management platforms such as Planview or comparable PPM/SPM solutions.

Nice-to-have:
  • Hands-on experience with Planview Portfolios, including enterprise reporting, data structures, configuration and data management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) or equivalent portfolio/project management experience.
  • Experience supporting Strategic Portfolio Management or enterprise portfolio-management capabilities.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance, data integration and portfolio-data operating models.
  • Agile certifications (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP or equivalent)

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable.
