Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a feasible 3-year supply plan for finished goods, drug products, and APIs.

  • Analyze global product trends, demand evolution, and supply performance to manage inventory effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external manufacturing to align manufacturing plans and forecasts.
  • Drive cross-functional team alignment on plans and scenarios, proactively addressing risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the Global Supply Review process by identifying and escalating supply risks.
  • Enhance supply planning systems and processes through continuous improvement and leveraging digital tools.

Full Job Description

The Senior Manager, Network Supply Planner will lead the development & agreement of a feasible Supply Plan for Finished goods (FG), Drug Product (DP) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) in the tactical planning horizon (typically 3 years), in close alignment with execution planning and the internal/external manufacturing network. In addition, they will own:

  • Tactical implementation of Brand Supply Chain strategies and planning assumptions within the supply planning process, ensuring seamless supply for patients.
  • Development of what-if supply scenarios and develop recommendations in response to actual or anticipated changes in demand or supply.
  • Ownership of the product structure process to ensure demand propagation through the E2E network in BMS planning and execution systems Rapid Response / SAP.
  • Global scope with key interface to Pod Leads, execution planners, External Manufacturing, and other SC partners across GPS (Global Product Supply).

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drive the monthly FG/ DP / API network planning process for assigned brands, aligned with agreed metrics including:
  • Inventory Months of Cover, plan Vs budget & previous plan. Manage and communicate deviations.
  • Review global analytics of assigned portfolio, including product trends, demand evolution, inventory projections (Heatmaps), supply performance and risks.
  • Understand site capacities, capabilities, and supply risks. Issue and bottleneck coordination as appropriate.
  • Work closely with BMS sites and External Manufacturing group, to ensure alignment of site manufacturing plans and CMO forecasts according to contract.
  • Strong accountability to lead cross functional sub teams to align plans, scenarios, and drive solutions for specified business deliverables / events / situations. Proactively identify risks and opportunities.
  • Provide input to the Global Supply Review process to incorporate major supply risks. Drive escalation of risks and manage active communication and action focus.
  • Develop and maintain consistent planning information via the product structure template, aligned with Brand and sourcing strategy. Drive the change process and flavor management as required.
  • Supply planning Master Data governance and systems management to ensure an accurate demand propagation and supply plan.
  • Collaborate with other global partners including:
  • Long Range Planning, Business Continuity Management, Product Strategy, Quality Management, Network Strategy & Business Operations.
  • Actively participate and support New Product introduction to ensure that supply network plans are optimally aligned and that supply plans are executed in support of the established timelines.
  • Identify continuous improvement approach for supply planning tools and planning process; Support systems planning enhancements and capability projects (SAP / Kinaxis Rapid Response).
  • Digital Acumen, Analytics, and Learning.
  • Leverages visualization and data contextualization tools including BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), integrated APS capabilities, and BMS platforms to monitor KPIs, perform root cause analysis, review best action analysis and provide data-driven decision support.
  • Contributes to process improvements through digitization and automation of planning workflows, supporting improved speed and accuracy.
  • Executes task-level work using available tools (e.g. WMS, SAP, Tableau, Riverlogic, Kinaxis), follows SOPs, fulfills orders, and maintains high level of performance across data and planning accuracy.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and adaptability in learning new digital tools and platforms (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, forecasting systems), quickly integrating them into daily operations.
  • Strong Planning and financial acumen with understanding of ERP transaction codes, planning/operational software, physical and transactional flows, etc.
  • Familiarity with AI and ML systems features including performance & expectation management, optimization, etc.
  • Actively upskills on emerging digital technologies and analytics techniques, showing agility in adopting tools and machine learning in planning use cases.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Life Sciences. advanced degree, diploma or certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CIPM / CSCP certification) strongly preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of Supply Chain experience for a reputed, global or multi-plant Pharmaceutical or Consumer Product company.  Experience with ERP and Advanced Planning Systems (preferably SAP ECC and Kinaxis Rapid Response preferred).
  • Experience with site capacity planning and / or global product supply planning and knowledge of Biotech, Pharmaceutical Sales & Operations Planning processes.
  • Experience in developing and implementing world class, global supply chain planning processes and managing them through deployment of global advanced planning and scheduling systems.
  • Good understanding and exposure to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements (EMA, TGA).
  • Experience in working internationally in a fast-paced, reputed, global pharmaceutical / Bio-Technology or Consumer company organized in a matrix structure.
  • Demonstrated capability in implementing challenging goals, objectives and practices in a complex and ambiguous environment.
  • Strong ability in negotiating and influencing without authority in complex, high impact situations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a rapidly changing cross-cultural environment.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills both, oral and written.

Compensation Overview:

New Brunswick - NJ - US: $115,290 - $139,709

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
