The Digital Technology Senior Manager will provide functional ownership, solution leadership, and direction for manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, quality, and factory digital solutions for Global factories, while aligning with broader Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, and enterprise standardization objectives. This role will translate business strategy and operational needs into scalable process and technology solutions, ensuring requirements, data, integrations, analytics, controls, and adoption are managed from concept through deployment and sustainment. The leader will partner closely with Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, cybersecurity/IT-OT teams, external suppliers, and delivery partners to design practical solutions that reduce customization, improve visibility, enable operational decisions, and strengthen end-to-end manufacturing execution. The role requires a hands-on leader who can operate as a solution architect, business process owner, program driver, and cross-functional translator. We seek candidates who demonstrate structured problem-solving, strong manufacturing systems judgment, delivery accountability, executive-ready communication, and the ability to convert complex business and technical topics into clear decisions. The role is remote in the US with travel up to 20%.

On a typical day you will:

  • Execute the functional roadmap and solution architecture for digital manufacturing capabilities, including Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, manufacturing analytics, engineering-to-manufacturing data flows, factory applications, and connected enterprise systems.
  • Lead requirements discovery, process mapping, functional specifications, business rules, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and traceability from business need through production deployment and sustainment.
  • Serve as the solution leader across manufacturing operations, Sourcing, Material Planning, Quality, Finance, DT teams, suppliers, and implementation partners to align priorities, resolve ownership questions, and drive scalable future-state designs.
  • Define end-to-end solution designs across ERP, MES/factory systems, analytics platforms, workflow tools, integrations, security roles, master data, manufacturing data and analytics initiatives, and operational support processes.
  • Translate business needs into clear architecture decisions, delivery epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, adoption plans, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Evaluate business requests and production issues to identify root causes, clarify business impact, recommend scalable solutions, and minimize unnecessary customization, process variation, manual workarounds, and technical debt.
  • Support multiple transformation workstreams by coordinating assignments, managing dependencies and blocking issues, maintaining risks and decisions, and facilitating timely resolution of cross-functional challenges.
  • Manage consultants, vendors, and delivery partners by setting priorities, reviewing deliverable quality, monitoring commitments, validating design decisions, and ensuring effective knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Lead the people side of change by explaining the business rationale, preparing users for new processes, supporting training and adoption, and ensuring factory and functional teams understand how to operate the new capability.
  • Maintain accurate solution, process, data, interface, testing, support, and governance documentation, and provide concise progress reporting that connects delivery activity to business value.


What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, supply chain, operations, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing systems, engineering systems, supply chain technology, enterprise applications, digital transformation, or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading business process design, solution design, requirements management, functional architecture, integration testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, and production stabilization.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and the systems ecosystem that supports factories, including ERP, PLM, MES/factory applications, reporting/analytics, workflow tools, and connected data solutions.
  • Experience translating complex business needs into scalable solution designs, functional specifications, data requirements, integration requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and testable outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with factory users, business process owners, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, developers, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity/IT-OT teams, and external delivery partners.
  • High level of collaboration and interpersonal skill, with the ability to communicate complex ideas, surface risks, anticipate objections, and influence decisions across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to simplify complex problems, navigate ambiguity, prioritize critical work, and drive actions and decisions to closure in a matrixed environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while maintaining strong transparency, governance discipline, and delivery accountability.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, Digital Thread, IT/OT convergence, manufacturing data platforms, connected factory solutions, or engineering-to-manufacturing transformation programs.
  • Experience with manufacturing master data, item structures, bills of material, routings, work centers, configuration data, engineering change processes, manufacturing execution, and inventory transactions.
  • Experience with ERP, MES, factory applications, Power BI or comparable analytics platforms, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Jira, or other requirements/change/delivery-management tools.
  • Experience leading multi-site manufacturing system deployments or programs involving global or cross-regional stakeholders.
  • Experience defining integration patterns across enterprise applications, data platforms, middleware, APIs, EDI, supplier platforms, logistics providers, shop-floor systems, or reporting solutions.
  • Experience with Agile or SAFe delivery models, solution architecture practices, cloud deployments, data migration, reporting, analytics, AI-enabled manufacturing or supply chain applications, or process mining.
  • Familiarity with change control, access controls, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, IT/OT segmentation, audit evidence, and regulated production deployment practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in process harmonization, change management, operational adoption, stakeholder alignment, vendor management, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business impact and clear decisions.

The salary range for this role is $138.000 to $173,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
