Position Summary...As a Senior Manager, Data Science, you will lead a team of data scientists and machine learning practitioners responsible for delivering advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions that drive measurable business impact across Walmart. You will partner closely with product, engineering, operations, and business leaders to identify opportunities, develop data-driven strategies, and deploy scalable solutions that improve customer experiences, operational efficiency, and business performance.

Develop Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning Solutions- Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of statistical, machine learning, and AI models at enterprise scale.
- Guide teams in applying advanced techniques including predictive modeling, optimization, experimentation, forecasting, recommendation systems, natural language processing, and emerging AI technologies.
- Oversee feature engineering, model selection, model evaluation, and production monitoring to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Champion best practices in model governance, validation, explainability, and responsible AI.
Drive Technical Excellence- Establish standards for data science, model development, coding practices, experimentation, and deployment.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
- Partner with engineering teams to operationalize machine learning solutions and enable continuous model improvement.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage new capabilities across the organization.
Deliver Insights Through Data Storytelling- Translate complex analytical findings into compelling narratives tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Influence strategic decisions through clear communication, visualization, and executive-level presentations.

Build and Develop High-Performing Teams- Recruit, develop, and retain world-class data science talent.

Shape Data Strategy- Partner with business and technology leaders to define data requirements, governance practices, and long-term analytics strategies.

What You'll BringRequired Qualifications- Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics, or related disciplines.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing data science teams.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, experimentation, and large-scale analytical problem solving.
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, and modern data science ecosystems.
- Experience deploying and operationalizing machine learning solutions in production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive business outcomes through data-driven insights.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience leading data science teams in retail, eCommerce, supply chain, marketplace, advertising, fintech, or consumer technology environments.
- Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
- Knowledge of cloud-based machine learning platforms and MLOps practices.
- Experience leveraging generative AI, large language models, and emerging AI technologies to solve business challenges.
- Track record of driving measurable business impact through advanced analytics and machine learning solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
