Full Job Description
The Position

This role leads the development and execution of consumer marketing strategies in support of obesity market development and the launch of a new product. The individual will be responsible for connecting target customers to relevant content through community-building and social media strategies that meet consumers where they are across the journey-from awareness and education through initiation and ongoing engagement-while partnering cross-functionally and externally to build programs and partnerships that improve access, support, and outcomes.

Relationships

This position reports Director, Consumer Marketing; Interacts with colleagues within the team, Obesity Marketing (at large), Media, Omnichannel, Sales, Medical, Managed Markets, Regulatory, Trade, Legal, and other internal cross-functional teams. Also interacts with headquarters, external agencies, advocacy organizations, strategic alliance partners, digital health / lifestyle / support service partners, research vendors / insights partners, and patients.

Essential Functions

A. Community Strategy for Social and Influencers
  • Develop community and social strategy to connect target customers with relevant obesity education, support, and engagement content
  • Translate consumer, social listening, influencer, and community insights into audience segmentation, content territories, messaging, and activation priorities
  • Identify unmet needs, barriers, questions, and motivation points across digital and community touchpoints in the obesity consumer journey
  • Define how the organization shows up across social, community, influencer, and creator ecosystems in a highly dynamic and evolving market

B. Launch Planning & Execution
  • Lead social and community launch planning for a new obesity product, including channel strategy, content sequencing, engagement approach, and execution milestones
  • Develop and execute social-first campaign, creator, influencer, and community activation plans that support market development and launch readiness
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure social, community, and content touchpoints are integrated across the broader consumer launch plan
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, agency workstreams, approvals, and execution readiness against key launch milestones

C. Partnership Development
  • Identify, evaluate, and help develop strategic community, creator, influencer, advocacy, and digital partnerships that strengthen consumer engagement
  • Collaborate with external organizations, agencies, and internal stakeholders to build compliant, insight-driven social and community programs
  • Explore partnerships that support education, authentic storytelling, access navigation, behavior change, peer connection, or ongoing engagement
  • Ensure partnership strategies align with brand objectives, community needs, social platform expectations, and compliance requirements

E. Omnichannel Activation & Agency Leadership
  • Lead agency partners in development and execution of social, community, influencer, creator, content, CRM, paid media, and experiential activations
  • Ensure content is insight-driven, social-first, audience-relevant, compliant, and aligned with broader brand and consumer strategy
  • Optimize channel mix, content formats, community engagement approaches, and creative based on platform performance and audience behavior

F. Measurement & Optimization
  • Define KPIs for social, community, influencer, content engagement, launch performance, and consumer experience outcomes
  • Partner with analytics, media, and agency teams to monitor performance, social listening, community engagement, and content effectiveness
  • Use data, audience feedback, and engagement insights to refine strategy, improve relevance, and increase impact over time

G. Budget / Governance / Compliance
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, agency scope, influencer/creator investments, and community program spend
  • Lead review and approval processes with legal, regulatory, medical, privacy, and compliance partners for social and community materials
  • Ensure social, community, influencer, and partner programs are compliant, operationally feasible, and delivered on time


Physical Requirements

20-30% overnight travel required.

Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8+ years progressive consumer marketing, CRM, social and community marketing, account management and/or sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry/life science brand marketing strategy and planning; experience within obesity preferred
  • Experience designing and delivering field training programs for sales teams
  • Understanding of field force dynamics and incentive compensation planning
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in regulatory guidelines related to promotional material development and field engagement


The base compensation range for this position is $ 120,300 to $ 222,600. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
