Full Job Description
Join Smith+Nephew as a Senior Manager, Commercial Systems & Operations and play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of our commercial operations technology ecosystem. This position offers the opportunity to drive enterprise wide process transformation, influence strategic technology investments, and enable a high performing sales organization through scalable business processes, integrated systems, and data driven decision making. Working across Sales, Sales Operations, Business Intelligence, HR, Finance, IT, and external technology partners, you will help define how commercial operations evolve to support growth today and into the future.

What will you be doing?
  • Lead the strategy, governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of commercial business processes and technology solutions supporting the US Sports Medicine Sales organization
  • Serve as the business lead for the evolving Commercial Operations platform, ensuring technology investments align with business objectives and operational priorities
  • Design and optimize end to end commercial processes across territory alignment, onboarding, organizational changes, sales execution, reporting, and commissions
  • Gather, prioritize, document, and translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions and operational frameworks
  • Partner with Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Business Intelligence, HR, Finance, IT, Commercial Systems teams, and external vendors to deliver integrated business solutions
  • Establish governance frameworks for process enhancements, platform changes, technology prioritization, and commercial systems alignment
  • Drive large scale business transformation and change management initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, adoption strategies, training programs, and executive communications
  • Collaborate with data, analytics, and systems teams to improve reporting capabilities, data quality, master data management, process automation, and operational efficiency
  • Provide strategic direction for commercial platform implementations, enhancements, integrations, and future state operating models
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, improve scalability, and enhance the effectiveness of commercial operations


What will you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 12+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Business Operations, Sales Effectiveness, or related functions supporting complex commercial organizations
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience leading cross functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across Sales, Operations, HR, Finance, IT, and Analytics
  • Proven success leading business transformation programs involving process redesign, technology implementations, operating model evolution, and organizational change management
  • Strong business and technical acumen with demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology enabled solutions
  • Experience partnering with CRM, commercial systems, analytics, data governance, and technology teams to drive platform enhancements, integrations, and process improvements
  • Excellent project leadership, analytical, problem solving, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills
  • Experience within MedTech, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or other highly regulated commercial organizations and familiarity with territory alignment, incentive compensation, commercial platform transformation, or sales technology modernization is preferred
  • MBA, advanced degree, or certifications in Change Management, Project Management, Agile Product Management, or Process Excellence are preferred

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $131,500.00 - 170,000.00 USD annually (or hourly) The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
