Overview

The Senior Manager, Field Services leads regional field operations for Stratis access control, metering, and IoT installations, developing a multi‑skilled technician workforce and driving the quality, speed, and efficiency required to unlock revenue and accelerate ARR activation. This role owns field readiness, training, labor performance, and customer experience to ensure high‑quality installations, reduced rework, and predictable delivery that strengthens margins and supports long‑term growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Regional Field Operations: Manages day‑to‑day field execution for Stratis access control, metering and IoT devices across the region to ensure safe, consistent, and high‑quality installation of submetering and smart‑building technologies (including Whitesky site readiness inspections) that directly enable revenue recognition.
  • Accelerate Revenue & ARR Delivery: Owns field readiness, installation and maintenance with the right to pull revenue forward, reduce delays, and ensure timely ARR activation for all assigned projects.
  • Develop Technician Capability: Builds a structured development path that elevates submeter technicians into multi‑skilled smart‑building installers capable of delivering smart locks (where legally allowed), thermostats, leak sensors, and other IoT devices.
  • Create Product Education & Certification: Designs and delivers training programs that teach, coach, and certify technicians on Stratis ecosystem hardware, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate AI‑Enabled Scheduling Automation: Assesses opportunities to inject AI‑driven scheduling automation into field workflows to reduce manual intervention, improve technician deployment accuracy, and increase overall scheduling efficiency.
  • Drive Operational Efficiency: Eliminates waste, reduces truck rolls, improves routing, and strengthens installation workflows to lower cost‑to‑serve while increasing throughput.
  • Manage Labor, Scheduling & Cost Performance: Oversees labor planning, technician utilization, and regional cost controls to maintain margin discipline while supporting aggressive revenue timelines.
  • Ensure Technical Quality & Compliance: Enforces installation standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, including state‑specific rules for smart‑lock installation—to protect quality and reduce rework.
  • Improve Customer Experience: Ensures technicians deliver a professional, predictable, and high‑trust onsite experience that strengthens customer relationships and supports renewals and expansion ARR.
  • Partner With Product, Engineering & Operations: Provides field insights to influence product improvements, documentation, and training content while ensuring alignment on hardware transitions and ecosystem upgrades.
  • Monitor KPIs & Drive Continuous Improvement: Tracks installation velocity, rework, SLA adherence, and technician productivity; uses data to drive accountability, improve forecasting, and support revenue‑driving decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.
  • 5+ years of field services experience, including installation, maintenance, or technical operations in IoT, low‑voltage, access control, metering, telecom, or related industries.
  • 3+ years of people leadership managing distributed field teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Submetering Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of water, gas, and electric submetering systems, including installation standards, commissioning steps, troubleshooting, and regulatory considerations.
  • Access Control & IoT Proficiency: Working knowledge of smart locks (where legally allowed), thermostats, leak sensors, and Stratis‑compatible IoT devices, with the ability to guide technicians through programming, integration, and ecosystem dependencies.
  • Independent Field Decision‑Making: Strong judgment to make real‑time decisions in the field, resolve installation obstacles, and escalate appropriately to protect timelines, safety, and revenue/ARR activation.
  • Exceptional Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure precise installation, accurate documentation, and adherence to quality standards that reduce rework, prevent callbacks, and maintain compliance.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The role may require periods of standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, and using hands to handle tools, materials, or computer equipment. The employee must be able to operate a computer, communicate verbally, and occasionally sit or stand for extended periods. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus. The position may also require lifting or moving items weighing 10 pounds or more.

 Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus, and sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role as well as individual performance. Pay RangeUSD $105,800.00 - USD $180,200.00 /Yr.
